I am unable to get back into my FB account. I was told my password was wrong so I checked making sure I was not on caps. Then I tried again, they said it was still wrong. So I thought I would change my password only to be told it was wrong again. Something was not matching up. So I tried again. Still no success. Now I have exceeded the amount of tries in trying password I cannot do anything. I stayed up all night trying things and writing to people but still no success. All I do is play my games and I have lost it all. Very upset. Hope I explained it right have not had a lot of sleep. Can you help me get my account up and running again.?

Have you tried using your e-mail address to recover your password? If you fail a login Facebook gives you the option to send a password-reset link to your chosen E-mail address.
If that does not work and neither does your password it is possible that a scam or unfriendly hacker has stolen your Facebook account. Use a friend to check your Facebook account for any changes.
If someone has maliciously taken your account you can go to the following link:
http://www.facebook.com/hacked/
There they will assist you in recovering an account that has been stolen.
Hope this helps!-Idahoodini

Your account may have been hacked. You can answer your security questions to get your password reset. Just click on the 'forgot your password' button!

no it didn't help. I exceeded the amount of tries and unable to try again . Even if I pressed forgot my password and go through all the rigmarole it still tells me I am unable to use my password. It is a waste of time.

Hi I need to delete my facebook iam going out of the country for 3 months

I tried myself a few years ago to delete my FB account and after trying a lot of ways to cancel it, even contact them to close it - no success!
So, I just ignore it and never used it again. Years after I decided to go back on FB, and there it was - but forgot my password. After a hazzle to got my old password, I opened a new FB account. So, the old one still exists.
I do not know if FB really close any accounts of people asking them, and that makes me wonder what about people that passed away that was on FB? Will their accounts be there forever?

I just got a new a new laptop and I wanna install my facebook but am told incorrect password once I log in.

Maybe you really entered a wrong password.
Or sometimes, you need to do some confirmation from your smartphone since new device is trying to access your FB account. that depends on your FB settings.

On the other hand, please input password carefully

Why isn't my password being accepted?

Hi Evelyn.

It's possible you've been hacked and someone has gotten on and changed your password. Or that FB is just having a bad server day where things that have worked for ages get zapped.

What I'd recommend to be on the safe side: Go to the FB login page and then use the 'I forgot my password' link. This should prompt you, possibly for some secret-question answers, and then send a password-reset link to the e-mail account that you have linked to the FB account. Use the link and go reset your password. Of particular importance in the event that someone did hack you:
  1. Make the new password distinctly different from the old one. If the old one was 'Evelyn555', don't make the next one 'Evelyn556' or 'Evelyn666'. You want a hacker to have no easy clue to the new password.
  2. Change the password on the e-mail account you affiliate with your FB account. Same advice on a distinctly different PW. If someone hacked your e-mail, then they also could have sent FB a password-reset request from there. (You may even want to check the trash to see if the link was sent, used, trashed, but not deleted). In any case, make sure that the spot that's the 'forgotten password' back-up spot isn't compromised, or it'll happen again.
  3. Make sure you memorize or save the new passwords in some appropriate way so that you can remember them, but no-one else can find them.
  4. If you have laptops or mobile devices that 'Stay Logged In' to FB, be careful about lending them to others without explicitly opening a tab to FB first and logging out.
Hoping this is useful!

If FB can\'t help, nobody else can. Your account is yours as long as you can keep your password safe. someone tried to hijack my email address, by sending mails something was wrong with my account and to make sure they could set things right I had to send them my password. If I had answered those mails I would have lost my account for sure.

If you try to make an account with your account name, and FB says it is already in use, and you don\'t have the password. you can be sure you can\'t access it anymore. FB will not kick the current user out of the account.

Perhaps the account could be accessed by you, if you only knew what password you gave it.

To make sure someone is using it. try someone to become friends with your account name and look who is answering.

FB normally donot response this type of queries. But you may check FAQ on facebook to get your problem solved. This type of issue normally occur when wrongly enterned credentials many more times and in your case you logged from other system. The reason for this verification from facebook that cookie in your home system recognize you when you loggedin FB but when you logged in from other system no verification is possible, b./c of no cookie. FB just ask for verification if you are one who is authorized to use your account. You can get security code from your email account which you have given to FB during registration.

- Use password reset option by answering secret code

It might solve your problem, if not you may contact...

Everytime I try to log in it says I have wrong password or email and then when I go on reset your password and I filled everything in it says: Invalid Email Please check the email address you entered. If you added multiple email addresses to your account, you can use any one of them to request a reset link.
