I have been issued a temporary password and I want to know how to activate it

You need to manually change your password yourself, after you've logged in using the temporary password you were assigned.

1. You will need to visit the website and reset the temporary password to a permanent password. Please note that your temporary password is valid until 11:59pm Pacific time the following day it was issued. Once you login with the temporary password the system will prompt you to enter a permanent password.
2. If your temporary password has expired, please resubmit your request in the same manner in which it was originally submitted. If you used theautomated password recovery system, you can simply request that a new temporary password be sent to you via e-mail.

When you try yo sign in enter your email address and click on forgot my password. You will have to enter a couple of grpically presented word and they will send a temporary password to your email address

Tivo won't know this until you tell it.... you need to change your network settings on your Tivo to reflect the new SSID and password...........

Login to your account using the temporary password as the password... when succeeded you will be asked to enter a new password to change the temporary one.

Are you talking about Windows login password? Try pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del at the logon screen. Type Administrator as the user name (Don't misspell the word!) and leave the password blank. Press Enter and see.
(You see, many people don't use an Admin password when installing Windows). Who knows, you might be lucky!
