No sign of life at all. No beeps, no motor twitches, nothing. Up to now worked fine. It is not just the batteries.

this could be the throttle pot.

Can you turn the bowl & agitator by hand.
If it can't turn by hand, Your seal & bearings need replacing.

If you haven't used it for the last 8 months and before it was all fine then the most common reason would be the battery. Your battery is absolutely dead but then again if you plug it to AC then it must show some sign of life. But give it a go by replacing new battery. To check get it from a friend and then test the camera on it.


If the battery replacement doesn't work then take it to an authorized dealer for inspection.

sounds like your motherboard has hard it try dissconnecting the everything exept CPU power supply keyboard and screen and see if you can get it to come up with the bios, if it still dosnt work unplug the fan on the CPU and turn it on then see if that works (dont leave for more than 1min without the heatsink fan spinning as it can cause the processor to overheat anything less than a min you ok. just long enough to see if theres any signs of life on the screen. hope this helps

remove and, reinstall the memory...If that doesn't work disconnect each device i.e. DVD, wireless nic etc. repowering each time.

Clean battery terminals and check other connections.

Possibly the alarm cut-off switch? or Ignition key switch (or wires) going bad?

But you mentioned you tried to jump start it and it did turn over?
IF so, you could have severe corrosion or loose connections of the battery cable both at the battery and at the termination points, such as ground and starter motor.
Check that the battery wires are tight and clean at the battery posts and at the other end.

Again the No lights suggests either the alarm cut-off, or an absolute disconnected battery cable.

Finally, it could be ignition fuse, Check fuses. Ignition key switch.

What makes this hard is that you suggest it would turn over with another battery connected. This makes no sense.

If the camera was working when you stored it and the shutter fires occasionally, it's probably battery corrosion. Clean the contacts with a pencil eraser,or contact cleaner tool.
What kind of camera ?

hmmm...that's not good. works fine with no battery. I suspect your motherboard may be taking a vacation from working soon.
