I have an Acer Laptop with Vista operating system.

When I get to Machine\Software\SQMClient, SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions is not offered.

What do I do next ?

  • Gary Campbell Mar 14, 2011

I have tried all of the suggestions several times
without any success. The problem still exists.
Also, after trying the first suggestions my computer will not go back to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
SOFTWARE etc. When I go to start and type in regedit it opens at .gz, .h, .HIC, etc.
Note: I have a vista operating system.

  • Gary Campbell Mar 15, 2011

I am using Vista operating system on my laptop. I am responding to you on Windows 7 operating
    system on my desktop computer.
My problem is with Hoyle Games by Sierra. When I hit play on icon I get back the following message Hoyle Games has Stopped Working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if solution is available.
Note: at the bottom of message in a box CLOSE PROGRAM

The first solution told me to go to start and type in regedit and go to the following key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions
I could not get past this point
There was not a right pane to delete subkey: Machine Throttling.

Note: Now I can't get back to the above point. When I try again to go to start and type
in regedit and press enter I only get new key #1, PersistantHandler, .H1C, .H1D etc.

    Can you help ?

    Hi,

Try to install it to your Windows 7 machine and set software in Compatibility Mode? Depending on your version of Windows 7, you may have the ability to run it in Compatibility Mode. Try right-clicking on the Hoyle Board
games shortcut that is on your Desktop. Then, go to Properties from the pop-up menu. Then, select the Compatibility tab. On that tab, put a check next to "Run the program in compatibility mode for:". Then, select Windows XP SP2. Click on the OK button to save this setting. Finally, try launching the program again.

Just let me know what happen if this runs on windows 7 it means it is a compatibility issue with the software and Vista

    Thanks

So the problem is that the program is not compatible with windows Vista. You can upgrade the laptop to windows 7 or downgrade to xp if you want to use the game. If i answer your questions you can see the 4 thumbs on my 1st answer across my you can rate me so i can help others like you. Thanks

What operating system do you have?(Windows XP,Windows Vista,Windows 7)
For windows 7

  1. Click Start.
  2. In the Search Bar, type regedit and press Enter.
  3. Locate the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions
  4. In the right pane delete this subkey: MachineThrottling
  5. Turn your computer off and back on for the change to take effect.

Can I download hoyle casino 3D on windows 7?

You can certainly download it. It just means it was designed for Windows 2000. More than likely you will have to run an app like VirtualBox in order to get it to play correctly. Read the article below and decide if it's something you can handle or if it's too much trouble.

Article:
http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/how-to-make-old-games-work-on-windows-7-969445?artc_pg=2

It basically says to get VirtualBox for old Windows games and DOSBox for old dos games.

Hoyle card games 2005 just stopped working. It won't open on win 7 64 bit comp. I've reinstalled, tried clean install, nothing

You should download and install a special "Virtual PC" package for Windows 7. It is designed specifically for installing and running software that worked in Windows XP, but does not work in Windows 7.

After installing Hoyle Card Games 2005, introduction runs but game stops and window pops up saying that windows is looking for a solution. Tried unistalling then reinstalling. Same problem.

you should try seeing if your computer reaches all the game requirements i.e: type of video card videoX, then you should compare with what the game requirements are and what your computer has! I think that's the easiest way to find the solution for your problem

To be honest, there are only two options.

1. Go to the sierra online website and see if you can get a 64 bit version of the game

2. Get an entirely new OS of windows (a 32 bit version) and then try installing
