Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-27FS100 27" TV

1 Answer

So, whenever this thing is on, it sounds like a bad case of tinnitus, or a real bad leak in a steam line. I unplugged all but the power cord and it is still the same. Seems like I have to turn up the volume louder than I should, too. My wife tried telling me it was because I need hearing aides, but she finally admitted that she's bothered by it too!

we will try this. Had problems accessing our account until now

  • wwwoolf Mar 15, 2011

Actually, the sound is not so much high-pitched. More like static, loud background white noise. W have to turn the volume to the highest setting to hear anything. I do not have hearing problems and normally that volume would be painful

All lights flicker and dryer stops. Unplugging usually helps for a bit, but the problem persists

Detach and re-attach all the connectors on the main board, while you have it open, also check the terminal block where the power cord bolts on to the back of the machine (look for loose lugs and signs of overheating). Intermittent symptoms like you describe are usually connection issues... Terminal Block WPW10245259
You can also rule out a bad outlet by running an extension cord to an alternate outlet and observe if the problem persists...

My HP Probook 4730s does not want to switch on. If I plug the power cord in the charging light flash blue ones and that is it.

ok all steps you did, are correct. sofar sogood'
all usb devices unplugged. all external things, but power cord.
did you do the HP long reset first? posted 1000000 times at the real HP forum..... we are not them.
battery out, line cord removed from PC (ac Pack)
hold power on for 10 to 30seconds. release
bingo for HP long reset, ok.
leave that old battery out (large) they can short. so....
line pack back, ac cord to wall and PC jack.
pack is 19vdc,read side of it, or if wise measure it.(volt meter)
new RTC coin cell. replaced, (tiny)
power on button pressed now, and the fan runs
if the fan is dead, this goal #1 the fan, always, next is text
if the fan is dead, there is no power or the fan is packed in lint
as most do after a year. we do the fan cleaning service next.
using AIR IN A CAN, BLOW THE exhaust ports clean and all vents.
you then tried a new power pack, and the fan is dead.
this pc uses LED backlamp screen, so need to test CCFL.tubes.

where are we, we are at no FAN ,no text
what's next, (gee get it repaired?) hah I sure you are here due to 1000 miles from nearest PC repair shop. so
what can you do, well lots with a screwdriver, got one?
if the AC pack is good, there are lots of magic things inside
to go bad, short and overload the POWER buses.
like bad ram
bad modem card, wifi card, bad blue tooth card.
HP real has service manual
all those up to 10 parts inside can in fact short.
we remove them 1 by 1 to find which one is shorted.
this is what all tech do. or go mad
Got beep codes, got LED FLASH CODES, TELL THEM NOW.
SEE BLACK SCREENS OF DEATHH HERE.
There are many forms of black screen,
text on the screen at any time is NOT blackscreen issues
see stripping here, (warning complex , done by trained techs)
see that not only power can short out, but so can data.,address or controls.(its Computer not a toaster)

Hp slim line s700n beeps one short, one long when powered on

One Short followed by one long beep is indicative of a Memory problem. Unplug the power from the slimline. Remove the case to expose the inside and wait about a minute to make sure no lights on the motherboard are still on after unplugging the power cord. If you have more than one memory chip installed try removing one of them and sit it aside. Leave the cover off, plug the power cord back in and try rebooting. If it doesn't boot unplug the power cord, wait till all lights on the motherboard are off, then move the memory chip that is already in to the other slot that was occupied by the memory chip you have set aside. Plug the machine back up and try rebooting. If you still have a problem remove the memory chip and set it aside, now do the same thing with the initial memory chip that you set aside (that is trying it in both slots to see if your computer reboots). If you get it to boot successfully, make a mark with an ink pen or felt pen on the chip that is set aside because it is probably bad. You can try placing the chip you marked on back in with the working chip and see if your computer boots. If it does, it simply means your computer's memory just needed to be reseated, if it does not boot you know for sure the marked chip is bad so leave it out and take it (the chip, not the computer) to a repair shop to buy another chip.

I have a red fluid leek at the front of my car(2001 Montana Pontiac) God know's I can not aford this, can I fix it myself ? I have a appointment at 1 today can you help

It sounds like a transmission line has gone bad. Its not an easy fix it takes special tools and time to trace down. It may be best for a mechanic to do it.

HP Compaq Presario SR2013WM ...Power Problems ?

Unless the power button sticks or does not pop back out, i doubt the issue is in the switch, but it can be tested by replacing it with a momentary switch from Radio Shack (not an exact fit, but good for testing)
This sounds like a power supply issue. That would be the first thing to check. If it is NOT connected to anything except the power cord , it shouldn't run unless switched on.
Could also be the motherboard, but before you start dismantling the computer , check the obvious. Open the case (usually to screws on the back) inspect all the cables, reseat your ram chips and addin cards.
Not to scare you ar anything, some of these presarios have bad capacitors on the mother board. coupled with the fact that they are difficult to clean (inside) and airflow is not maximized in the case, they tend to cause the capacitors to swell and leak, losing voltage.
When you are inspecting the insides of your case, take note of any capacitors (little cans with crosses on the top) on the main board inside around the CPU fan that are swollen or leaking.
If you find these in bad condition , i would replace the motherboard.

No steam on the Dream

Hi,

Initially, pls check for steam leaks. This model has been known to have issues with leaks preventing it from reaching the correct pressure/temperature. Since the leak could be visually checked, it would be a matter of determining at what point/component would the steam be coming out other than designated point. Often, it would be a joint with a rubber seal or a tubing entry point.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Tinnites

Try this site:
http://www.curefortinnitus.com/

Many sufferers make use of self-help treatments such as:
  • Maskingthe tinnitus with competing sounds, such as low music (using personalheadphones) clocks, or other noises such as ‘white noise’ generators. This makes it easier to ignore the tinnitus, help concentration andsleep.
  • Useof hearing aids for hearing loss - being able to hear sounds you cannotnormally hear may help override the tinnitus noise
  • Cognitive behaviour therapy can help people to change their response and lower their awareness of tinnitus.
  • Deliberately trying to concentrate on something else and to ignore the tinnitus
  • Stress management - stress and fatigue can make the condition worse.
  • Avoidance of alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, and certain foods that are known to aggravate tinnitus.
  • Use of earplugs, earmuffs and avoiding loud noise to limit further damage to the ears.
We are actually not supposed to provide medical/legal advice on this site, but I just thought this may help you. Hope it does :)

Microwave turned off

I always suggest that the hood / exhaust fan be on whenever you're cooking on the stove top. This helps keep grease and steam out of the controls.

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a minute, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.

Otherwise, you may have a bad controller, which we may be able to repair for you.
