My tv will not turn on unless I do the same routine each night. First, I have to remove and insert the power cord from the back of the tv several times until the power button begins to flash without stopping after 15 seconds. Second, I have to sit and watch the button flash and wait for 6-10 minutes until it changes from lit to brightly lit. Third, I have to hit the power button on my remote immediately after the light goes out. If not, I have to go through the whole cycle again. PLEASE HELP!!!

Tv turns off and on over and over

Hello, This may seem kinda silly but please check that the power cord is fully seated into the tv's power socket. Just remove the power cord from the TV, and re-insert it back in. Also verify that the other end is fully seated into the wall outlet or extension cord!

My screen turns off and on... stays off for several seconds and thens turns back on... does this several times, then wont turn back on until I unplug the power cord and replug.??? Unit is about 1.5 yrs...

Before we start taking things apart, lets try your simple remove power plug routine and power system back up. Also, please try your unit on a few different channels to see if your problem continues on each channel. Your Main Board, Power Board, T-Control Board are suspected problems at this time. Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, the unit should power down by itself after you have powered it on. If it does not, then do not be concerned. Let me know if the problem continues. The first link below will bring you directly to the troubleshooting guide if you need to continue forward with the same error. PRINT UNABLE 46 SEE TROUBLE SHOOTING CHAPTER IN TROUBLESHOOTING & ROUTINE MAINTENANCE IN USERS GUIDE SHOWING ON LCD

i posted few days back solution to this particular problem, please follow these steps:

first, try to establish if this really is full absorbent pad, remove power cable from the back, wait 20sec, press menu/set key, insert power mains - in most brother printer/faxes this will display machine error code. if this is code 46, you are on the money, your absorbent pad is full (not necessarily, only counter is showing it as such in most cases).

we will asssume that counter is showing full and therefore reset it again to zero:

1. after machine code is displayed, key in "80",
2. go down with arrow key till you find "purge counter"
3. type "2783" this should set counter to "0"
4. press "stop/exit"
5. press "9" twice
6. remove cartridges from craddle
7. remove power cord
8. insert power cord back
9. switch on printer
10. insert cartridges back

if that do not work, then maybe really you need to replace absorbent sponge... it is done under warranty and if not technician in service centre.

if you want to do it yourself, remove cartridges, remove fron cover and on the right hand you will have "offending" sponge. either clean it (absorbent, lint free tissue is fine to remove excess first, then few drop of water and repeat draining process with tissue several time, at least till "cake" from the top is removed. best of course will be to replace the sponge with new one.

after that you still need to reset counter. in another way - follow steps...

if you find this advice useful, pleasae leave comment and rate it, thanx!

Watching tv when the picture went black and now the green on light flashes for 30 times and turns off

A green flashing light for this model of TV indicates that the lamp cover is open on the TV.
  1. Unplug the power cable to the TV.
  2. Remove the 2 retaining screws on the lamp cover with a Phillips type screwdriver.
  3. Remove the lamp door completely from the TV.
  4. Remove the two retaining screws on the lamp case.
  5. Lift up the fixed wire handle of the lamp.
  6. Pull out the handle slowly and remove the lamp case.
  7. Insert the new lamp gently into the correct position. Make sure it is inserted correctly.
  8. Using a manual Phillips screwdriver (Do Not use an electric screwdiver), tighten the screws you removed in
    step 3.
  9. Replace the lamp cover and tighten the cover screws.
  10. Plug in the power cord and turn on the TV. After the initial warmup period (which may take up to several
seconds for full picture brightness), the TV should operate normally.
If any of the following conditions exist, turn off the TV, unplug the power cord, and repeat steps 1–9 to ensure that the lamp unit and lamp unit
door are installed correctly:
  • The lamp indicator flashes green.
  • No picture
  • Dark picture
  • TV will not turn on
If, after repeating steps 1–10, the problem still exists, call Customer Service at 1-800-631-3811.

It might have reset during the night
only thing you can do is be certain it is connected directly to wall plug without a power strip.

JVC 48" rear projection AV48WP30 is HAUNTED

Dear Losing Sleep, The symptoms you're describing sounds like a bad tac switch or two. You might notice a bit of a pattern also, consistent with temp changes. (ie: up in the early AM when house got cooler, and bingo set is on). It's not an expensive repair. Tac switches are an item under a buck a piece. However, this is NOT something you want to tackle yourself... This TV is actually built to self destruct if a less than educated tech opens the back. If you remove the rear cover while the power is on you will destroy all DVI programing inside the DVI (Digital Input Module). The only way to restore the programming is to send the unit to JVC. There is a light sensor inside the TV and when the back is removed with the power on the data is erased from the eprom. You might even take it an extra mile when calling around to find a shop to work on it by asking if they know the correct procedure for opening the back of your TV - - If they do know their answer will be something like this: First turn off set and remove power cord then short pins 1 and 2 on the SB connector of digital input module. Before replacing the rear panel remember to remove the short on the SB connector. Do not turn power on until the rear panel is inserted into the cabinet. If you have to work inside the set with power on remove the two cables going to the DVI module. When you find the right shop take the unit in yourself - you'll save a few bucks that way. Hope this helps. Bill
