Unplugged it. After looking for a new tv online I decided to try getting it to work. So, plugged it back in and held down the power button, a red light came on, held down the power button again and an orange light came on, held down power button again and green light came on and tv powered on. This was simply a case of trial and success!

unplug, hold power button, plug in. If that doesn't work, unplug all the HDMI cables, unplug the power, hold power button, plug back in.

Tip

How to repair a vizio tv that turns off at random

1.) Unplug everything from the TV [power, hdmi, av, and more]
2.) Because the Vizio holds power while unplugged you can reset it while its unplugged.
3.) hold power button on the tv down for about 60 seconds.
4.) plug the power only back in.
5.) turn tv on
6.) if it works then plug each component in one by one
7.) enjoy your tv
8.) start saving for a non vizio tv.

My kdf50e3000 doesnt want to turn on all the time !! i have to unplug the tv and not all the time works !! it tries to turn on but it doesent ! next morning when i plug it on it goes on !!

Your TV's SMPS ( Switch Mode Power Supply ) needs fixing. The kick pulse circuit is not working. That is the reason when you unplug the TV and plug it back sometimes the plug sparks it starts working. Some of the high value resistors would have gone even higher due to age.
Will need professional help for that.

Panasonic remote and volume/channel buttons do not work

My son put a penny in the SD card slot of my Pansonic flat screen tv. I finally got the penny out but now the volume and tv controls do not work. I can change the channels through my cable box but that is it. The volume does not work on my cable remote or the flatscreen. What do you suggest I do to fix this problem?? Thanks, Josh

Toshiba TN55X81 Wont turn on but I hear clicking

Pull the three connectors to the yokes on the convergence board. If the set powers up, it's a good chance the STK392-110's need to be replaced. I fixed one today, and it has been running for 6 hours now.

Same here.  Had the TV for about 6 months and had a DVD get stuck for the second time.  Used the same method of unplugging and plugging back in.  Then hitting the Stop/Eject on the side and it came out.  When plugging it back in I could hear the DVD "engage".

I had a half power outage where everything turned half off, how I still dont know. Anyways I unpluged it and didn't plug it back in until the next day. When I did the timer light was blinking for an hour. I unpluged it for a couple hours more, then I plugged it in and waited for 1 min, unplugged it and repeated, then I plugged it and unplugged it 3 or 4 times in a row, plugged it back in and waited. 1 min. then poof the tv worked. YAAAAAA HOOOOOO!!!!
