Question about Foxconn Cinema Deluxe AMD 785G Socket AM3 mATX Motherboard w/HDMI DVI Audio Gblan & RAID (020F1H69BG50Q)

2 Answers

I have a HP HPE-210y purchased for drawing graphics. I can't get into BIOS. I have tried every combination of "F" keys, delete, escape, and so on. I even replaced the CMOS battery last night. Please help, Motherboard is Foxconn H-RS880-uATX (Aloe). The form factor is uATX, and the chipset is AMD 785G. Thank you!

I apologize for taking so long. I just tried your solution - put the jumper on pins 2 and 3, waited a minute, and switched the jumper back to pins 1 and 2. Tapping F10 at startup, it again bypassed BIOS and went to logon. Do you have something else I can try? Thank you.

  • rbhinely Mar 15, 2011

Yes, your solution worked. One thing I added, don't know if it made any difference or not, was remove the CMOS battery prior to moving the jumper. Once I moved the jumper to the second and third pins, I reinstalled the battery. It may not have helped, but it obviously didn't hurt. Thank you very much for your solution.

    Hi,

Correction on the answer above. Hold down the F10 key during the startup process and enter BIOS setup. Don't just tap the F10 key hold it when restarting on the POST SCREEN.

You can refer to the manual below.

Using the BIOS setup utility The Basic Input Output System (BIOS) is responsible for enabling the hardware system on your computer when the computer is turned on. The BIOS Setup Utility makes it possible to change and store system configuration settings such as: which onboard components are enabled, the boot sequence for the system, and adjusting power management support. To open the BIOS Setup utility, turn on the computer and immediately press the F10 key repeatedly, about once every second, until the BIOS setup utility screen opens. Choose menu screens by pressing the left or right arrow keys. Use the up or down arrow keys to move up or down through the list of items on a menu screen. Press the Enter key to select an item for modification. For certain items, pressing the Enter key opens a submenu. After you have selected a menu item, use the arrow keys to modify the settings. Press the Esc key to exit from a submenu. Help is shown on the right side of the screen.
CAUTION: Information stored by the Setup program is essential and changing certain settings can render your system unusable (until the BIOS is reset). BIOS settings should not be changed unless you are certain the change does not negatively impact the system.

for more information follow this link if the procedure did not work clear firs the CMOS setting then reboot the computer press F10 to enter the bios set up

how to clear the BIOS setting
I have a HP HPE-210y - hpweb_1-2_plus.gif Clearing the CMOS settings
CAUTION: Do not change any jumper setting while the computer is on. Damage to the motherboard can result. This motherboard has a jumper to clear the Real Time Clock (RTC) RAM in CMOS. In the default (normal) position the jumper is on pins 1-2. c01925491.jpg

  1. Temporarily set the jumper to pins 2I have a HP HPE-210y - c01925492.jpg="http://i.fixya.net/uploads/images/c01925492.jpg" alt="c01925492.jpg" class="h_mi" />
  2. Wait 5-10 seconds and then return the jumper to pins 1-2.
  3. On the next startup, enter BIOS setup to reset any custom BIOS settings.

How do i reset my computer to an earlier date?

Most computers have a RTC or "real time clock" in the BIOS. BIOS (or "Basic Input Output System") controls how data gets into and out from the processor (via keyboard, disk, etc.). Be careful making changes. The BIOS is normally only accessable when the computer is powered on or reset, and then only while performing the POST (or "Power On Self Test"). At this time your screen may display text describing memory, drives, controllers, etc. Some machine have a "silent boot" enabled which displays a manufacturer's graphic or logo instead of this data. It is during this time the the BIOS may be accessed. Depending on the manufacturer of your computer, a key (Delete, Escape, F1 or some other) or key combination (ALT + F1, ALT + S, or some other) will be needed. It is required to press the key or key combination prior to the Operating System loading message(s). This can be done be repeatedly pressing the key (or key combination) once every second (or two) during the POST. Holding the key(s) down the entire time - or pressing them too often will result in an error, and require starting over again.

Once the BIOS screen is presented, you will have to scroll the entire page(s) to find the clock. Most BIOS brands have more than just a single page of settings. Using the the up, down, left, right, PgUp, PgDn & Enter keys - navigate to the clock hours and minutes and adjust as needed. Make sure that you SAVE changes before exiting the BIOS screen. Upon exit, the computer will reboot with your settings.

Your Operating System may also provide a way for you to change the system time (and date) as well. Try clicking on the time / date to see if it will bring up a dialog box that allows you to make the change.

I hope this helps and good luck! If my answer was helpful, please rate it "4 thumbs up" Thanks!

コナミコマンド
No wait that's probably not it.

Your probably trying to get into the BIOS screen.
Try each of these in order:
Delete
F1
F2
F3
F5
F10
Escape
Insert
Control + Escape
Alt + Escape
Control + Alt + Escape
Control + Alt + Enter

If none of those work try web searching "BIOS key for xxx (your Desktop manufacture and model)".

BIOS settings are accessed as soon as you turn on your computer, usually by pressing one of these keys: delete, F2, space bar, or escape.

If you post exactly what computer make and model you have, or what motherboard if it is custom built I can tell you for sure.
