Most are 3.5" and size would be on the sticker usually on the back of the router. You can also plug it in to your pc via usb cable and it will tell you how big when look at it in MyComputer folder or you can take down serial number from back and ether Google it or go to Seagate's site and find out all the answers. Hope this help.

Get full full capacity of external 2 tera Seagate that now is reaing only 110 gig

This has happened to me before, also. What I had done was copy a disc IMAGE from the old, smaller drive to the larger drive - and the larger one turned into the same size! You did not mention your operating system (Windows, Mac, etc) but my solution was in Windows to go to Disk Management function and view the unallocated space left. Sure enough, there was "unclaimed/unused" space for the entire difference in size. Following the instructions of the Disk Management tool, I just added the remaining space to what was C: drive. I could have just as easily created a different drive space with the leftover, it's up to you - but I find it preferable to have my space in one chunk.

Note: This is a very sensitive area of Windows when you're dealing with file systems. A raw beginner might want to have an experienced friend help them through it, but if you follow instructions EXACTLY even a first-timer should be able to do it. If this solution does not work, let us know. Best wishes - Mark

If you take it out of the case, there will be a sticker on the drive with all the info. I do know it's quite a few years old tho. Somewhere around 160 gig I think.

Either you have 50 gigs of stuff on there or your hard drive space is not being properly read. U might need to reformat the drive if necessary.
Meanwhile your xbox electronics may have a limit on the size of space - so if the drive has 200 gigs of space on it and your unit will only recognize 32 gigs, then that is all it sees and can use. Capiche?

How to open case: Seagate ST3160203U2RK External Hard Drive ??

This is one of the mean tricks that the industry uses to discourage people from opening things and then totally ruining them.

What about getting yourself a 5-star-shaped screwdriver? Ask your hardware store guy.

Too expensive? Well - I have a lot of different simple slotted screwdrivers. Normally I find one that fits into 2 corners of these "miracle screws". If you don't have fitting one use a cheap one that is slightly too large to fit and grind it down just to size.

The same trick works with the other kind of "discouragement screws" that have ALMOST a normal slot --- but there's an elevation in the middle of it. A slot screwdriver with a ground-in **** in the middle (Dremel tools work fine) does the trick.

You better check with the Seagate people. This seems to be a problem with the casing. And since you're under warranty, you can get a replacement.

How to open the external hard drive case.

Hi, Most Seagates HDs uses Torx (type of screw head characterized by a 6-point star-shaped pattern). TORX sizes are using letter "T", followed by a number. A smaller number corresponds to a smaller point-to-point dimension of the screw head. These are also used by cellphones but smaller sizes. Normally you can buy a plastic box set containing 6 Torx drivers of varying sizes, hopefully one will fit you HD. However, if you are referring to the enclosure of the actual HD, they might or might not be using the same kind of screw. Hope this be of help/idea. Post back should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.
