Question about Bloomfield 1012 Coffee Maker

3 Answers

Coffee maker has been working fine(except only brews half a pot). One day it simply did not power on. I verified 110 volts at main power board when plugged in. What can I check next to troubleshoot problem?

Problem is: coffee maker is not powering on (no lights at all on control panel) when plugged in and pressing on button.

  • scotte692 Mar 15, 2011

I did check to make sure there was voltage at the electrical outlet by plugging in another appliance. As stated in original question, I have also verified 110v with a voltage meter at the terminals on the main power board of the coffee maker when plugged in. Is there anyway to test the On/Off button or the control board?

  • scotte692 Mar 15, 2011

No fuse to be found. I have supply voltage to my main power board. The transformer on the power board also has power to it and is producing secondary voltage (14 volts ac). Do you know what voltage should be powering the control board (I am reading 5.04 volts dc)?

I was hoping for more technical guidance on troubleshooting electrical components of my coffee maker, but apparently there is no one knowledgeable enough.

Hi,

According to your problem your coffee maker doesn't turn on. First check the indicators of your coffee maker to confirm about problem. If the indicators doesn't respond then first check your ac outlet, also check the ground. If there is not any problem (according to you) then may the power cord cut of inside or faulty. You can change the power cable. If everything is OK and working fine then you check the total power unit and wires of the electric input and control board section. For better instruction test the total control unit see the manual. To download manual go to www.pamasco.com and download bloomfield coffee maker model manual.

Hi Scotte,
If you can take it apart, check the internal fuse. I've suspected that it was already blown. Replace with the same type (ampere ratings). Sometimes voltage surge made the fuse blew or because of aging... Let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi

Run 1/2 pot of vinegar through it 2-3 times or if required more than that and then run water 1-2 times until the smell of vinegar washes out. This cleans the mineral deposits that are clogging it. Also hold down the program button until it flashed and then try to set the timer.

    Hi

Check the electrical cord of your coffee pot to ensure that it is plugged into an electrical outlet and free of damage or defects. If the power cord of your coffee pot is damaged or broken, do not use the appliance until the cord has been repaired by an authorized repair center. Also you may have a short.Another reason can be the on/off switch may go bad. Make sure it is plugged into a 120-volt outlet.Plug another device into the same outlet as the coffee pot and turn it on. This tests the outlet to make sure there is not an electrical problem. If the outlet is not working, a breaker switch may be tripped, the outlet may need to be replaced or you may have a wiring problem.

Keurig B31 Mini Plus Brewing System not working

There is a transformer that take the 110 voltage and reduces it to 13.8 or 14 volts depending on your unit model, it runs an electronic board or little computer in the coffee maker. It's the brains of the coffee maker. I would say you fried the transformer and possibly the electronic board if the high voltage made it past the transformer. I have replaced the transformer in our sons Keurig and that fixed his problem but he didn't plug it into 220v. The transformer is not expensive, an eBay item at around $15 or so. Taking the unit apart is not an easy thing to do. But if your handy you could figure it out and test the transformer to see it it's putting out the right voltage. Just check the voltage tag of the one that it came with so you can order the right one for your pot.

The pipes are blocked with build up scale or water dirt. You can try to descale the machine by adding in the water half cup of lemon juice and brew it without coffee leave if for 20 min and the clean it by brew it with fresh water these will make a diference then try this again in a week.

Kenmore Elite coffee maker Model # 100.9101670A Is this model on a recall? How can I get a manual for it? And what is the filter reset button?

I have a manual with mine and as far as "recall" goes on this model, I've not found anything recalling this particular model...

The most important thing in the manual, that I have found, is how to clean and change the filter. If all else fails unplug the pot for 10-15 seconds; replug it...this resets it...(if it ever acts up, do this; it helps)

The filter reset button: Your coffeepot should flash a small message stating: "change filter and clean" To do this you first, turn off the pot, remove filter~(the filter is in a long thin black plastic thing and the filter cover simply snaps and pulls apart to expose the charcoil filter; Remove the Filter, then fill the coffee pot with 7 cups of vinegar plus 7 cups cold water; Place a paper type regular coffee filter in the brew basket, or a thin paper towel works well too~(This traps and holds particles that get trapped inside the pot)

Before brewing; PLEASE NOTE, brew the first pot of vinegar/water mixture only HALF WAY then TURN OFF and let it sit for a good 15 minutes to soften any deposits...
Turn the pot BACK ON and brew the remaining solution. When brew stops turn OFF coffee pot, empty the solution, and discard the paper filter...

Refill reservoir with cold water and turn ON; you may want to dump this and refill with more cold water to ensure the vinegar taste/smell is gone...

Now, wash the brew basket and the glass pot...Open the black skiny Water Filter and replace with a new charcoil filter...Put Filter back in pot...fill brew basket with coffee and brew some mighty fine tasting coffee!!! Hope this helps....Good Luck

Coffee pot

I am having the identical probem, I plug it in, it starts to heat, but no brewing. I have removed the lid and the water pan underneath, and looked into the opening. When heating, the voltage on the main heater is 110 volts. It stars to steam, then the unit switches off.I think that for some reason,it's not allowing the temp. to rise to the boiling point. Anybody have any ideas? I'll check on that one way valve in the meantime.

Sounds like maybe the temperature sensor is cutting it off too early. This is an expensive ($200 US) pot so I would contact the mfr. They might have a quick solution.

It is probily the thermal switch between hot wire and element. Check to see if you are getting power through this switch.
