Error code E8 appears mid wash, heater is working ok, machine has been hooked up to the hot water instead of cold. I have since directed cold water through water valve.

hot water form the house takes less power to bring up to machine temperature so by hooking it to cold water will increase the power consumption
call a service center and get the explanation for the error codes and that will explain what is faulty
you didn't mention the make and model of the unit and every error code appears different
for example in a fulgor milano machine code 8 is failure of orientation of distributary valve ===causes open circuit or break of distributary valve
for hoover nextra e8 is dishwasher has failed to heat with water in a reasonable time or has failed to detect the water heating element===causes check water heating element/wiring--check wiring to main control module
go google and type in-- dishwashing machine error code 8-- and see if there is any site for your machine to get the error code and causes
other than that get in a service technician for a correct diagnosis and fix

F3 code and beeping noise

Not sure which model number dishwasher you have. But usually F3 error means a water temperature related fault. The water temperature is too high. Hopefully you are not using the hot water supply of your house. If so then ensure it is less than 80 deg C. If using normal mains supply (cold water) then it is likely the temperature sensor in dishwasher has failed. Not an easy job to fix as it is integrated into the water heater element at the base of the drawer for the DD603 drawer type dishwasher.

Bf72 not doing the wash cycle correctly

If you are using hot water connection then check the temperature of incoming water is hot enough. If cold water inlet only is used then most likely the heater element or thermostat in the dishwasher is faulty and the water is not heating enough.

Hotpoint built in dishwasher model no BF72 switches on for a couple of minutes then bleeps and showes error E8, can you tell me what the problem is. Many thanks Phil

This seems to be the "anti flood" device at the base of the washer is triggered due to water at the base of the washer. This safety device consists of a polystireene float and a micro switch that detects water leaks/spills and automatically puts the washer in pump out mode. You need to find the leak (hose or clamp)dry the base and rectifythe leak it before the washer works.

Error caused by a leak which fills the plastic base tray and operates pressure switch to stop machine working, easy to check by removing metal panel under door (2 screws) and feeling for water. Make sure its switched off first. If pool of water found like i found dry out remove side panels and run on a short cycle to locate leak. Mine was from a joint with a oring on the RH side of the m/c which was a odd size decided to silicone joint which worked.
