Question about One For All URC4220 Remote Control

1 Answer

I changed the batteries in the oneforall remote control, I can get the buttons to work, and light the little red light at the top, but it won't change the channel, or raise and lower the volume, or turn on or off the TV. I thing the code needs to be reset. It's on a TV in my mother's nursing home room, and I don't have the instructions on how to reset it.

When you removed the batteries, you drained the memory. You will now need to reprogram the unit. That might be a problem if you don't have the original manual that came with it (probably not much more than a sheet of paper.

Easiest way to fix the problem would be to buy one of those JUMBO remotes at CVS or Walgreens. They are only about $10 and since they are oversize they would be the perfect thing for an elderly person. Big keys and bigger case so it will be easy to find.

Good Luck

The Wii turns on but the remote won't connect to the screen...all lights working also, bought a new sensor bar and still nothing...???

Turn on the Wii console, when at the home screen press any button on the wii remote, if the lights on the wii remote remain dark then it needs new batteries.

If the lights all light up at the same time then stop this means you are not synced. Press the 1 and 2 buttons at the same time to sync, this will work if they have been synced before.

If your four lights still blink blue then you need to open the little compartment on the console that is right below the disc tray. Inside is a little red button, press the button. Now open your battery compartment on the wii remote and take out the battery, then press the red button inside. Put the battery back in and the controller should sync up. If you are still having trouble you will need to contact Nintenedo Technical Support.

Hope this helped!

How to snychronize a Wii Remote to the Wii console

A lot of people have trouble synchronizing their Wii Remotes to their Wii console. I have written a short tutorial on how to do this.

Figure out which scenario is similar to yours and proceed with the solution-

1) When you turn on the Wii console and press any button on the remote no lights light up at all. This is because the remote is dead, you must replace the batteries in the battery compartment on the underside of the remote. If the controller is using a charge pack you need to put the controller on its charger.

2) When you turn on the Wii console and press a button on the controller all four lights blink a couple times then turn off. This means the controller is not synchronized. If your controller has ever been previously synchronized all you need to do is press the 1 and 2 buttons at the same time and it will sync up.

3) If option 2 doesn't work then this means you are preforming a first time synchronization with the remote. While the Wii console is turned on you should open the little compartment that is just below the disc tray. Then you should press the little red button. After pressing the red button you should open your Wii Remotes battery compartment, remove the batteries and press a similar little red button inside of the compartment. Put the batteries back into the controller and the controller should be synchronized!

If none of these solutions are working then the problem is a technical issue with either the Wii remote or the Wii system, you should contact technical support for more information.

I hope this helped with the synchronization of Wii Remotes!
hi , To check wether the remote is outputting a infra red signal when a button is pressed try viewing the little LED at the top of the remote through your mobile phones camera , these little cameras pick up a fuller spectrum of light and you should see if flickering. IF you dont then check the batterys/. then the connectors for acid errosion from previous leaking batterys./pull the remote apart and with a pencil rubber clean the contacts on the surface of the circuit board/.The rubber membrain that has the buttons on wash it with warm soapy water , dry thouroughly.last test --go to mapplins and buy a replacement infra red led and change that? , see haow you go whith these tips and report back

Wii controller not working

Have you tried syncing the new remotes. There is a little red button where the battery is and then there is a little red button on the console. Hit the button on the remote and then hit the button on the console. It should work after that.

Is it multiregional

Sony are probably the most protective manufacturer of this kind of information. All manufacturers carrying a DVD logo are obliged to say "no" but will normally intentionally leak this to boost sales, particularly in non-US areas.

But try this:

On your DVD recorder, using the official Sony remote, select the Options option 5. On your DVD recorder, using the official Sony remote, select the Command-Mode option 6. On your DVD recorder, using the official Sony remote, select the DVD1 option 7. On the official Sony remote, set the DVD1 option for the Command-Mode switch, under the sliding cover 8.
