I don't believe they'll sell replacement screens, you'll probably just have to shell out for a new pilot. Your best bet is probably doing what I did: eBay. Got a gently used 8GB Pilot for $30 that had a 4GB SDHC card in it that the company selling the used player didn't even know was in it. I love free stuff. ;-)

Lcd screen is broken

You cannot simply replace the screen for two reasons:
1) You cannot order a screen, except by buying a broken player of your same model. Once you get this screen, you will need to unscrew your mp3 player base and take out the old screen and insert the new screen, carefully applying a minute amount of adhesive to keep it in place.
2) 95% of the time, the LCD controller is also damaged -not just the screen. Unless you are an expert circuit engineer, you will not be able to acheive this - actually you would probably find that it is more expensive than buying a new mp3 player (to the extent that it is even possible).

Sorry.

Broken display

Check Settings --> LED Effect and make sure the firmware is also up to date

If still fails, here is the bad news : broken screens cannot be repaired - you must replace the entire player

Downloading music.

hi there gurdy!
Sony mp3 players are great mp3 players, except with one problem. You need to get Sonicstage, the mother program for their mp3 player, to put music in their. So, one way is to go here first:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=NWE405
download the Sonicstage program, and install it into your computer. (WARNING! First install the Sonicstage, then connect the mp3 player to the computer, otherwise it might not work.)
When you are done installing it, and you plugged the mp3 player, open up Sonicstage. It should open up with a screen saying many things such as My Library, Transfer, Music...
From there, go to add music (top left corner button next to My Library, next to it) and three choices should come out, saying add files, add folder, or import CD. From there just add files from your computer.

Then, click the Transfer button. There you should have a split screen, half My library half Transfer aka mp3 player space. Choose the songs you want to import and click the arrow pointing right (in the middle).
Give it a few minutes to download into the mp3 player.
After it is all done, either exit the program or just pull out the mp3 player and wha la music to your ears!

It's a nice mp3 player.

Hopefully this solution helped out.
Please contact or reply if you have anymore problems.

this is where you can read the manual and all the information about it.

My sansa e260 needs help

Your screen is broken. Not the plastic on the outside, but the actual screen itself. I currently have the same problem. Unfortunately, I have not found anyone that sells replacements yet.
