When you restart, do you continue to have a white screen? If you do, it is probably the video inverter. Usually an inexpensive ebay item. Just take the bezel off your screen, the inverter is located at the bottom center. It has wires at each end. Unplug them. It may have 1 or 2 screws that need to be removed. Reverse this proccess with your new inverter.
If you are getting no lights at all it could be a bad power port or bad charger. Try to gently wiggle the plug around. If you get no lights, check the charger, you may need to replace it. If you get any lights then the solder on that port has probably broke loose. Very common. This involves a complete disection of your laptop, and the power port will have to be replaced.
