Make sure something hasnt fallen into the printer like a paper clip or something. I had that happen and was experiencing the same problem. Something very small can cause only one of the wheels to grab the paper causing it to pull in crooked.

If there is something in it just remove the papaer and gently turn the printer upside down and the foreign object should fall out.

Paper is pulled through crooked printing is not straight. how doyou clean the rollers?

This can be caused by several factors. It could be that there's something(like small foreign objects in the paper feed area) causing the paper to get crooked. It can also be caused by improperly adjusted paper guide or the paper is not in good condition.

Prints crooked

The paper is not being pulled into the printer straight.

There are small sliders that rest next to the paper in the loading tray, you are required to push these so that they slide over and rest directly next to the stack of paper. This will guide the paper into the printer straight so that the paper does not get pulled in crooked.

The paper is being pulled in crooked every time

You might want to try using rubbing alcohol with a soft pad on the rollers near the ink cartridges...I've found that the ink can make the rollers 'sticky' and cause the paper to be pulled to one side. Hope this works for you!

Paper is being fed through the printer crooked. Almost like the paper feed wheel is not working properly, being pulled down in the right side, but not on left = big mess

You probably have a piece of paper stick in the pickup carraige. Get a flshlight and a tweezers and see if you can CAREFULLY pull out any pieces of paper...

My paper keeps going in crooked and jams

Hi, at the following link you will find some easy to follow steps on how to prevent this type of problems. Also make sure there is nothing blocking the path of the paper when the printer is trying to feed it. Sometimes objects will fell inside the printer and block the paper path thus causing the paper to be pulled from one side and the other jamming.

Printing crooked, blurred, bad roller?

Sounds like when you pulled out the paper jam, you misaligned the print carriage. That would produce both the noises you hear and the print quality issues. HP.com has a few web pages on their site that might help. The first one deals with noisy print carriages. Unfortunately, it's not dedicated to just your product, but the steps should generally apply:

Resolving Noisy Print Carriage Issues

There's a separate web page available for troubleshooting crooked or skewed printouts:

Printed Text or images are Crooked or Skewed

If all else fails, unplug the power cord from the printer, wait 20 seconds or so, then plug it back in. That should restart the printer and make it go into a self test which may include a realignment procedure. Watch for any error messages on the display on the printer's control panel. Sometimes to realign, it prints out two test pages and instructs you to place the first printout on the scanner bed and then press Enter.

Go to the following web page and when it opens, scroll down to the section "Replacing the print cartridges", and find step 9 in that section for alignment instructions.

Replacing Print Cartridges

Good luck.

G85 series prints crooked

From HP's site:

Problem: The print on the paper is skewed.

Solutions: 1. Slide the paper-width adjuster against the left side of the paper stack, and 2. make sure that the rear access door in the back is fully “locked”.

Printing crooked

As "Guest" posted on Feb 05, 2009 the problem for me was the box in the back of the printer that facilitates double sided printing. One side had come loose. I was getting "Paper Mismatch" errors, and the text was printing slanted. I simply pulled the box out and reinstalled it. Problem solved.
