I was baking something and the oven locked and the broiler came on.
It said F3 or something on the door. We could not get it to go off by
pushing off so we had to turn off the electricity.
The oven needs to be cleaned could that be why?

check the socket assembly.remember Before repairs or testing can begin you must disconnect the electricity at the fuse panel, at the circuit breaker panel, or by pulling the plug. Make sure the power is off before proceeding. ! check the switch Usually the switch will be either on the control panel or inset into the oven door opening.
Now you need to gain access to the back of the switch in order to test it. Check your range's operating manual for access and mounting details. Most switches are push-in types, and you can carefully pry them out from their location with a thin-bladed screwdriver.

I had the same problem and worked on it for HOURS! Spray a tiny bit of WD40 on the glass fixture near the back of the oven. Wait a couple minutes and it will finally "give" and turn counter-clock wise. This part was clearly OVERLY tightened by the manufacturer.

Turn the power off to the oven. Spray around the bulb base / socket with Pam or similar spray cooking oil. Will take several applications. Bulb should free up -- may take a couple of hours for oil to seep into socket far enough to loosen it. Use oil liberally.

There are two chrome hinges on the inside. You can remove the screws that hold them in place.
Do you still have this oven?
I'm looking for a thermostat replacement for mine.
