By memory stick i assume you are talking about a Sony Memory Stick. Now this is a quick guide but if it applies to your situation you should easily download data from it to your PC.

First things first, you need to have a card reader, or a device that can read data from your memory stick and connect it to your PC. You could use a sony phone, psp, digi cam or any device that uses a memory stick.

Now after connecting this device to your computer, you would probably get a notification that you have just connected a device to your computer and is ready to use. If you did receive such notification, simply navigate to your device by double clicking your "My Computer" icon and double clicking the device that has the memory stick in it. After this highlight the data you want to download to your PC and copy it, (right click on the file and select COPY) or by pressing Ctrl-C.

After you have done this navigate to your "My Documents" folder and simply press Ctrl-V or right click and select PASTE.

If you are successful you will see that the data from your memory stick has now been transfered to your "My Documents" folder.

Good luck

How to chicken?

Hello there Sir/Madam! My name is Alex and I work under expert team surveillance.

Firstly make sure your PSP-3000 or TA88v3 PSP-2000 has PSP Firmware 5.03 installed. Check in your PSP XMB go to Settings/ System Settings / System infomation. If you don't have PSP 5.03 installed download it here. Create a folder called UPDATE in PSP/GAME on your memory stick and place the eboot from the archive into the folder. Run the 5.03 Firmware update from GAME / Memory stick and you will have 5.03. The firmware required to run ChickHEN.
Now download the ChickHEN R2 release from here. Open the CHickHEN R2 archive and place the folder inside Slim with gif images into your PSP memory stick location like so PSP/PHOTO (later it will be PSP/PHOTO/ChickHEN). Now place the h.bin into the root of your memory stick pro duo. Where the folders PSP, MUSIC etc are located.
Ok next step place the memory stick into the PSP. We have found this step helps ChickHEN boot with less attempts, go your PSP XMB, to settings and Restore Default Settings. Your PSP will reset, now go back into settings and turn off UMD Auto-Start and UMD Cache. We found ChickHEN loads in 2-3 goes after doing this.
Now go into Photo / Memory Stick and ChickHEN. And wait, you will see five egg giff images, these will start to load thumbnails. Your PSP may freeze and reset. Just keep retrying and ChickHEN R2 will load up....But if you see flashing colors, your PSP will reboot into ChickHEN your homebrew ready!
With ChickHEN R2 loaded now starts the fun part. (P.S You can put your PSP into standby now so you don't have to go through the whole process again)

Hope this helped and/or advised you on your next move. Please rate my solution, thanks in advance. Wish you good day

I cannot get my PSP to show images under the photo icon. The instructions do not make it clear how to set up the memory stick duo. Can you give the step by step proceedure, please?

As far as I remember you do not need to setup the photos on the memory stick, but I'll explain how to do it.
Step 1. You can either use the USB cable or get a memory stick adaptor for this.Connect whichever you chose to the computer.
Step 2. It should bring up a menu(if it doesn't bring up the menu go to computer and look at the devices with removable storage your memory card should be there double click on it go to step 3 if you had to do this)click on open folder to view files.
Step 3. There are other choices you see but ignore them and click on PICTURES you are basically there if it still doesn't work then it might be in the wrong format.

Laptop freezes. Turn off. Wait. Turn on. 3 beeps. Small light on lid lock lights for about 12 secs then flashes 4 times. Cycle repeated.......No screen picture.

The most common cause of the '3 beep issue' is memory or RAM failure. Generally, only one memory stick goes bad (you only need one stick for your computer to work) so here's what you do:
Step 1: make sure the MacBook is off then remove ONLY 1 memory stick. After you remove it, place the battery back in the battery bay then try powering it on. If it works, you'll know that memory stick is failing and you can buy a new one fairly cheap.
Step 2: If step 1 didn't solve your issue, replace the 1st memory stick and pull out the 2nd. Replace your battery in the battery bay then power up. Usually one of the memory modules is bad. If neither step works for you, try getting a compatible memory stick that you know is working just so you can rule out both memory sticks being faulty. Here is my email adress: i_Patch, Don't forget to vote if this helps you and good luck! Contact me if you have further questions.

My psp memory card dont let me put stuff in

you may have to format the card. Also make sure your card is not placed in the lock position.
How to Fix a PSP Memory Stick
  1. Step 1 Upgrade your PSP's Firmware (its operating system) before doing anything else. Firmware 5.0 solves many software problems that are encountered with older memory sticks. You can upgrade it by simply connecting your PSP to any wireless connection through its WiFi. Once a connection is established, the PSP will update itself automatically.
  2. Step 2 Check to see that your memory stick's plastic tongs, the small sticks that separate each connection, are straight. If one is bent, your PSP will not recognize the stick.
  3. Step 3 Remove your memory stick if it still does not work. Insert it into a PC with a memory stick slot. You will most likely be able to see all of your saved files. If so, continue to the next step. If you still cannot see your files, then your memory stick is defective, and it is not the PSP's fault.
  4. Step 4 Copy your files from the memory stick to the hard drive.
  5. Step 5 Format your memory stick using the "Format Disk" option in Windows. Open Windows Explorer, and find your memory stick listed in the "Drives" section. Right-click on the memory stick, and click "Format." Follow the on-screen instructions in the windows that pop up.
  6. Step 6 Insert your memory stick into your PSP. It should recognize the disk now. However, you now need to format the memory disk again with the PSP.
  7. Step 7 Go the PSP main menu, and select "Settings." Then select "Format Memory Disk."
  8. Step 8 Put your memory stick back in your PC, and return the files you removed earlier. When you reinsert the stick into your PSP, it should now see all the files.

What are the procedures to download a game from my psp through internet?

In simple terms its this; you will download your games from the internet into you PC and then transfer your game files to your PSP via a USB cable. When your computer is connected to your PSP, your PC will recognize your PSP as a detachable memory (similar to a USB drive). It will assign a drive (usually f: ) and you will be able to drag and drop you PSP games file to your memory stick. These are some of the step to download PSP games.

Step 1

You must copy your PSP games file to the correct path or the games simply would not work. The correct path is PSP>GAME (all the folder names are in caps)

Step 2

After the PSP games are fully transferred to your memory stick, disconnect the PSP from your PC. In your PSP main menu, scroll to GAME and then select Memory Stick option. Press X, and list of available games in your memory stick will be displayed. If you find any error on your PSP, you might want to check your firmware version.
This is a simple guide on how to download PSP games from your computer and it is a proven techniques and been done countless of times. Most important of all it allows you to enjoy wide variety of games from other gaming console.

I have a memory stick with files on and for some reason its asking me to re format it, but i dont want to lose the files.

If you reformat you will definitely lose the files. Here is a protocol that may get you up and running again. If it does not, check at a local staples or other computer dealer and see if they can retreve your data as you memory stick may be a goner.

Remove the memory stick from the USB port on your computer and then reconnect it to make sure it was installed properly.
  • Step 2 Check the sides of the memory stick and see if it has a "Write Protection" tab. Slide the tab over to the "Unlocked" position if it was set to "Locked" and attempt to use the memory stick again.
  • Step 3 Remove any USB hubs or extra USB devices that are connected to the other ports on the computer in case you have accidentally gone over the maximum number of devices that the motherboard can handle.
  • Step 4 Click on the Windows "Start" icon located at the bottom-left side of the main desktop toolbar. Click on "My Computer" and wait for a new window to pop up. Check to see if there is a new drive in the list of options that corresponds to the USB memory stick.
  • Step 5 Click on the "Map a Network Drive" button located at the top of the window if the USB memory stick is not appearing in the list of options. Choose an available drive letter from the drop-down box and then click on "Browse." Find the location of the memory stick and then click on "OK." Close the "My Computer" window and re-open it to access the memory stick.
