Question about Apple iPod touch

1 Answer

I have the newest iPod touch, and the previous generation as well. One day a month or so ago they both experienced menu issues after a "software update" from Apple when I plugged them into the computer. Now my videos will not load. I've tried restoring, tried taking all of the video off and adding them back one at a time. Nothing worked. If I click the "video" icon, it gives me a blank screen for five seconds then goes back to the main screen. Last night I applied a brand new "software update" via iTunes when prompted. This did not correct the problem. At first I received the message "no videos" but then it went back to doing the same exact thing.

Hi. This was a known issue with that version of the software update. Please try checking for any further updates. If there aren't any, try plugging your device in, clicking on it in iTunes, and playing music and video directly from the device through iTunes.

Reset my ipod 8gb touch screen 4th generation

Perform a straightforward reset procedure on your iPod Touch if you are experiencing issues like freezing, unresponsive apps, delays or other other problems. Carry out a reset if your iPod doesn't respond when you attempt to restart the unit. This type of reset will not erase any content from your iPod Touch.

Locate the "Sleep/Wake" button on the top of the iPod Touch. Press and hold down the "Sleep/Wake" button and the "Home" button simultaneously. Continue to hold both buttons for at least 10 seconds. Release the "Sleep/Wake" button and the "Home" button when the Apple logo appears on the screen, indicating the device has been reset.

I pod freezes after initial start up

To reset an iPod with a Click Wheel, including: ipodnano3.jpg ipodclassic.jpg icon_ipod_5g.gif ipodnano2.jpg ipodnano.jpg ipodphoto.gif ipodg4.gif ipodmini.gif
  • iPod nano (3rd generation)
  • iPod classic
  • iPod (5th generation)
  • iPod nano (2nd generation)
  • iPod nano
  • iPod with color display (iPod photo)
  • iPod (Click Wheel)
  • iPod mini
  • iPod mini (2nd generation)
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
