Question about Whirlpool LTG5243D Top Load Stacked Washer / Dryer

Open Question

Whirlpool Stacked ThinTwin LT5000XMW0 - The original problem was the washer would fill and not go through any of the rest of the cycle. Pulled the lid switch and it was good. Took off the belt and spun all the pulleys. They were free. The motor wouldn't spin. Got a brand new motor, swapped it out no problem, fired up the washer and it worked better than it ever had. Well, better for about fifteen loads. Now when it makes it to the spin cycle, it makes a loud buzzing noise and the drum doesn't spin. It doesn't spin in all wash modes even if advancing the timer. All other parts of the cycle occur normally. The drum, all pulleys and motor are free; the water pump appears to begin cycling properly. The motor did not fault for overtemp and no breakers were tripped. Any ideas? I appreciate the help! Have a good day!

SOURCE: Whirlpool LSR7133KQ0 no pumpout, rinse, or spin.

NO...the problem you are describing are the typical symptoms of a lid switch malfunction. The lid switch shuts the washer off when you open the lid while the drum is spinning. This is a safety feature to prevent injury from moving parts if you decide to add a garment or stick your hands in the tub for some reason while it is in operation. On some model Whirpool's the washer WILL work initially for the wash cycle, then stop when it gets to the rinse cycle. I would recommend you check your lid switch to make it is not loose or broken. Your washer is also equipped with a lid strike (a small plastic piece on the lid that activates the switch) make sure it is not broken off or missing. This will give the same symptoms of a broken lid switch.

If you require a replacement switch, they can be ordered on line at searspartsdirect.com, or you can go to your nearest appliance parts retailer. The part number for the switch is 3949247. The lid strike (if required) is part number 358684. If you need instructions on how to replace the lid switch, you can use this link if you like:

I don't know how savvy you are, so I thought I would add the instructions just in case. I hope you find all this information helpful. Let me know if you require additional assistance.

SOURCE: Whirlpool washer lsq9010pw -Timer not advancing

you can also check to see if the timer motor is good. not a good idea to bypass. if the presure switch was bad it would not stop filling up.

SOURCE: whirlpool commercial washer stopped running mid

If the timer and lid switches are funtional and the machine is filling and shutting off correctly that only leaves the motor. Have the motor tested or replace it. Even though the timer is running it is possible that it is still at fault. If you have access to another timer try switching them to make sure it isn't the timer. This does sound like a faulty motor and I would start with that assumption.

ThinTwin cabinet access

a little awkward atfirst but shlould be a problem. remove the angular panel along the rear of hte washer top youll see two brass clips an inch in on both sides, with a screwdrier "pop" these clips off, and if i remember correctly there are (2) 5/16 screws directly behind them (sorta on the frame of unit just below the rear lip of the top) the main top then will slide toawrd you and rigth off. a screw secures the front panel on both sides adn it too lifts up and off. acess to pump is right there. reverse order nad your good to go.hte brass clips will SNAP right back in place when lined up correctly

LTE6234 Whirlpool Twin Thin Timer Broken?

Check for voltage at the water inlet valve with the timer dial pushed in or in an off position. If no voltage replace the water valve. If you do have voltage you'll have to trace the circuits back from the water valve to the line. One point of demarcation is the water level switch. Pull the violet colored wire and see if it still fills while off. If it does it's likely the timer's bad.
