Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Can I join a Toshiba 281c to a home group network?

It can be worked with a desktop pc having windows 7 straightly configured to 281c and if the device is shared. Then u can access the desktop pc and browse 281c and send prints. Better to start with as a simple peer to peer connection use TCP/IP and observe that it can be accessed via Internet browser, If the copier utility page appear alright that means ur connected. Good Luck!!

I need to calibrate the display screen on a Toshiba e studio 281c

Hi: Hold down the 0 and 8 keys while turning on the copier. Do not release them until the extension light comes on. This light is located above the display. Once this happens key in 692 and press the start key. You should the see two arrows in the upper left and lower right corners. Press each one of those to calibrate the screen. Shut the copier off and turn it back on and you should be all set.

LCD starts to display for about 2 seconds then goes dark.

lamp(s) perhaps.... with an LCD monitor (the desktop kind) you can shine a lite behind it. if you can see things on the screen it's the lamps... if you can't it's something else.

Toshiba studio 281C problems

You should be able to print on both, but I wouldn't advise it at all. The envelopes are going to jam a LOT and you WILL eventualy get a label stuck inside the machine. Possible....yes. But I don't recommend it. :)
