For the most part, both Windows versions have the drivers established and active when installing the operating system. more so for 8.1 whereby that version is really up to data.

Using Windows 7 - My USB logitech M-BJ58 mouse keeps disconnecting/reconnecting. It works fine on my old XP system. I've tried different USB ports, but I'll be working fine then heard the USB disconnect...

I am thinking you may have to do a system restore to before you got the update. Did you update the drivers for the mouse for Windows 7? Sometimes the older OS drivers get buggy on Win 7. You can get the drivers for free from Logitech's website. One other thing to check, make sure the USB connector is not worn, sloppy or has a broken wire under the rubber cover. It can happen. You should be able to remove the last Win update then you will know if that is the culprit. Hope that helps.

I change my system from windows xp to windows7, but I don't have the mouse driver ( vgp-bms30 ) for windows7. How or where download driver of vgp-bms30 for windows 7?

I went to the manufacturers web site to no avail there is no further information in their drivers section. This is an issue with some devices from an upgrade to Win 7 leaving folks rather stranded without proper drivers to work with their devices. I looked for a work around as well. I did find some questions and answers and some solutions Click Here and check them out. You can also call the manufacturer to see if they can assist you. Win 7 should have picked this up. If you have the disc for this device install it again. Or last ditch is to go to the windows update and select "Optional Updates" see if the update is listed there. Thanks for using FixYa! John
Listed is the Win 7 for your device compatibility fixes just type in your model for a possible work around there as well. Click Here

Logitech V320 cordless optical mouse-work with Win ME?

No, the drivers will only support windows XP at the lowest.

But windows ME will support a standard serial mouse, which are still available, the drivers are already installed.

Logitech M-BJ58 USB optical mouse win xp issue

Hello dcipher,

This is due to a missing Windows file called input.inf. The solution is as follows:
In Windows XP, you can use the MSCONFIG utility as described in the following steps:
  1. Click Start->Run.
  2. Type msconfig in the Open field, and then click OK.
  3. Click the Expand File button.
  4. Type input.inf in the File to restore box.
  5. Type the path of the Windows XP .cab file where you want to restore the file from in the Restore from box. If you don't know the patch, click the Browse From button to locate the Windows XP .cab file.
Note: The Windows XP .cab files are stored in the I386 folder on the Windows XP CD.
  6. Type C:\windows\inf\ in the Save file in box. This assumes that Windows XP was installed to the default directory. If Windows was not installed to the default directory, you will need to adjust the path to point to the correct directory.
  7. Click the Expand button.
  8. Click OK. If you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.
After extracting the file and restarting, try installing the mouse software again. You should no longer see this error message.

Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

P.S. Before you assign a rating, please make sure that the issue is resolved or you are satisfied. If not, please post back as to what you did, and/or any other questions you may have, and I will try to assist you as best I can. Please do not assign an ‘Inappropriate’ or ‘Thanks for trying’ rating if your issue is not resolved after the first response itself, as sometimes a bit of to and fro dialogue may be necessary before we can find a fix or an answer to your query.

If you find that the solution/answer I provided led you to, or resulted in a fix, please close the ticket with a FixYa! or Helpful rating. I would be very grateful for your show of appreciation.

Thank you for using FIXYA!

Cheers!
