When I turn the camera on, it seems to get stuck zooming out. It clicks and the lense only comes out half way before stopping and the screen tells me that there's a zoom error

My camera is having this problem and at first it wouldn't come out at all, but i left it for about 2 hours or something like that and tiurned it back on and it comes out about half way now. Hopefully after another hour or so the lens will fully come out.
Maybe just try leaving it alone for a bit and trying again in an hour or so ?

Its clear that Lens Mechanism has problem inside. You can open it and check any broken or misaligned part.

How you can eliminate the sign on E:61:00 the camera sony DSC T-5 series Cybershot

Hello and Welcome

The symptoms of this error is
  • After pressing the power button in capture mode, the lens would extend and a slight humming from what appeared to be the auto focus motor could be heard for about 5 seconds. When the motor stopped humming, the camera would beep and display E:61:00 in the LCD Screen.
  • Camera would extend the lens but not be able to focus on anything past 8 inches or so.
  • Zoom in and zoom out would not work.
  • Playback mode and the Setup mode was not affected.
To solve this
Put the camera about a half inch from a hard surface.
Let the lense go out and hit the surface and retract a little bit. Let it go out all the way when it tries the next time.
If that doesnt fix it, try this:
Turn it on and let the lense go out fully
See where the lens comes out of the camera? The little round crack that surrounds it? Wiggle the lense a bit and blow in there a bit. (Be sure not to blow on the lense!)

Now turn it off/on again, and it should be fixed

Sony cybershot DSC-W170 lens malfunction

sounds like you have dust, sand of some type stuck in the retracting lense. Ive found someone to tell me to take out my batterys and SD card, then tap the bottom of the camera on a table top. Replace the batteries and power up. Doing this, I was told it loosens up the debri for the lense to retract to close and to open again.

Zoom on fuji f650 stuck

Hi Sandra, Try power reset for your camera. Turn the camera on, and without turning the camera off, open the battery door and take the batteries out. Leave it for a minute or two. This helps camera get reset and helps correct the basic functionality and also zoom error. Hope it helps u otherwise u will have to take it to authorised repair center. Good Luck.

Won't focus when zooming into the subject

It seems that the lense element which mooves while zooming the camera is stucked. normally this happens when the camera suffers a heavy jery, may be by dropping the camera. Resulting into disalingment of the lense assambly. You will need the help of repair shop to solve the problem.
