Question about Little Tikes Cozy Coupe
Wedge something like a screwdriver under the cap and twist. They usually pop off with a little help.
Otherwise pliers from the top while rocking back and forth may work.

Thankfully there were two spare caps (I think they might be called "acorn caps") in the box (probably the manufacturers know that this is where errors occur). Okay, so I pushed a flat head screw driver under the cap and levered up a gap and then inserted an open ended spanner (wrench). This has to be a very thin wrench like the free one you often get with new kids bikes. The end was just wide enough to go around the bar over which the cap is hammered down. Then with a hammer hit the spanner as close to the bar as possible (i.e. as close to the open end of the spanner as possible). And then keep hammering. It took me about 20 minutes to remove two. If you are careful you do not damage the plastic frame. Be prepared to remove the plastic coverings of the cap once you start banging to reveal the metal cap itself. It's a worrying process with the wife wanting to know if you are succeeding and you sweating knowing that this was not the most manly thing that you have ever done messing up the building of a Cozy Coupe. You then have the child wanting to get inside. Also watch out because when the cap does come off, it does so with force. I almost took out the windscreen of the car. Good luck.

The caps are a type of "acorn nut". Check a local hardware store (not the big guys) for this type of fastener and bring the shaft with you to get the correct size. These should not cost more than about $.50 each.
