Hotpoint wf860 washing machine leaking

About two thirds of the way through the cycle, water starts coming out from underneath the powder drawer, and through the bottom of the door. There are no splits in any seals, and i am baffled. Can someone help.

Had exactly the same problem and it did indeed turn out to be a blocked filter - mainly with "Colour Catcher" sheets. Initially I thought the dispenser drawer was faulty so spent twently-six quid on one before that failed to fix it and then I discovered this site!

To get to the filter, unplug the machine then remove the bottom plastic panel at the back of the machine (2 screws). Undo the jubilee clamp holding the black rubber flexible coupler that joins the drum, drain pump and pressure sensor to each other. Pull the black coupler downwards away from the drum. Inside is a plastic cup filter arrangement with a plastic ball. Clean this out of various debis - along with the sheets there was £ 2.26 (to put towards the cost of the drawer!) in mine.

at what point in the cycle does it do this i.e when filling, spinning etc?

if its filling, it might just need the soap dispenser cleaned as any build up of soap powder in here will force water out of the front.

if its at a rinse/spin, it could be something trapped in the pump filter, because if the water cant drain quickly enough when the machine starts to spin then the water gets forced back up through the soap dispenser as there is nowhere else for it to go.

hope this helps

please dont forget to rate the helpfulness of this reply, thanks kj

Thanks that really helped. I have a hotpoint dw129 and the sump was at the front of the wm which was great for access.However,I undid the clamp and a funnel emerged which had 35 pence in there. It hasn't leaked again but I am wondering if i need to remove the coupler too was a bit tough and I was content for the moment in finding the loose change. Hmmm should I have taken the coupler out too ??

    Well after a few months of wondering what the hell was happening, and having found this site... I am £1.20 richer and I also have 4 make up pads that my Darling wife has clearly deposited into the machine via her dressing gown... gotta love them haven't you!

    Thanks Nibo12, that solved the issue. Typically, as Im a Scot, I found a plastic 2 pence and a faux diamond behind the machine :)

Water comeing from drower

Check for water leak with drawer open while washer is operating from beginning of cycle. Your problem could be attributed to one of the following:

* water valve
* water inlet hose
* rubber door seal

Contact an appliance service company.

Leak from lower door section and from powder door thing.

This could be a partially or completely seized/failed pump.
Before a machine goes in to a spin cycle, it runs the pump to empty all the water out. It used to be quite common that the machine does not check all the water has gone before spinning, it just runs the pump for a set time which if the pump is okay, is long enough to empty it.
If a spin is then started with quite a lot of water left in the drum, it gets thrown everywhere including back out of the powder/conditioner draw. Also the sheer strain of spinning a large amount of water can force water through an otherwise okay door seal.
Unless you are comfortable working on the machine yourself, call an engineer.

WF860 doesn't clean the clothes at all!

Lack of water in wash cycles. possibly due to blocked filters in water valves where hoses connect to machine or faulty water valve, normally cold inlet is the main problem

WD 63

Remove dispenser drawer from m/c, and thoroughly clean it and all accessories.Clean all residual build up of undesolved powder and conditioner in drawer compartment..
If it still leaks, then remove top cover, locate large black hose at bottom of dispenser, and give it a good squeeze to clear any possible blockage in the hose itself..
If still no better, could be due to exceptionally high water preesure forcing the water out of the drawer.

Turn cold water valve down a little to reduce pressure.
Plz rate my solution.

Water leaking (Aquarius 1200)

don't think using quick wash should make a difference as water intake is the same take drawer out and wash thoroughly especially the rinse compartment. if gunged up the water overflows the compartment and leaks down the front. otherwise, you may have a blockage in the hose from the drawer to the tub. take top off, remove this hose and clean disconnect from mains when you do this
