Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

hope this will help don

Power door locks won't work and the instrument pnnel lights won't turn on. I replaced blown fuse a 20mp one in position 14 I believe. worked ok till I tried to lock the doors, the fuse blew

Hello. Try looking at the black earth that goes from the drivers door and into the A frame which is covered in a rubber sheath. The wire can break after opening and shutting the door over several years and as it's normally the thicker wire is more prone to break. Also check the other wires visually for any chaffing and tugging on each wire. If more electrical parts start failing, air con blowers etc it will be an earth. Hope this helps

Ssd won't show up as destination drive.

I'm not sure this is your problem, as you question isn't descriptive enough. But here's a solution if I do understand your question correctly.

When I have installed new hard drives in the past, I did the physical install, turned the computer on, and they just worked. Not so with SSDs I've installed. After the physical install, the SSD does not show up in the "Computer" window with all the other drives; because it's not FORMATTED.

Solution:
Navigate through:
Start > right-click on "Computer" in the right pane > select "Manage" > in the left pane select "Disk Management"

All the drives will show up in the main window, including the SSD you just installed. If it does not show up, there's a problem. Maybe one of the cables isn't fully inserted, or there's a defective cable, or a defective SSD.

You can tell the SSD from the other drives by the Gigabyte capacity, and also by the fact that it does not have an assigned drive letter (e.g. C:). Also, it's named something like "New Edition".

To continue to formatting, navigate:
Right click the SSD > select "Format" > select "Quick Format"

A drive letter will be assigned. You are given the option to change this letter if you want. Also, you are given the option to name this drive. This name will appear with the drive listing in the "Computer" window. I simply used the name "SSD", however if you want something more discriptive or colorful, it's your computer, it's your SSD, you can name whatever you want.

The other format option is for when one is installing a used HD which may have bad sectors. That option scans for bad sectors, and takes a LOT longer to format. Not necessary for a new SSD. Plus, you can scan a drive for bad sectors anytime with the "chkdsk" command.

The SSD is now ready for use, including for use as the main drive. Windows will happily load onto this drive.

Toshiba satellite turns on but power light blinks and screen is blank

Start as basic as you can, remove everything you can, RAM, HDD, modem (if equipped), WiFi card, optical drive, etc. It should beep when powered up, complaining about missing RAM. Install RAM and see if you can get it to POST. If so, install 1 item at a time until it stops working. Bad part found.

If it doesn't complain about the ram, it's probably a bad system board. If it does complain, but doesn't post with the RAM in, it could be still be a bad stick of RAM or a bad RAM socket on the board, try one at a time, and in each of the sockets.

I think my hdd is broken, windows does not recognize it.

I have the same problem. It's too late, I know, Diego, but I found this silly solution that I am posting that might work for others. Plug the Toshiba HDD into another USB Port: (Probably Windows OS retains each stream that it has started, and these streams need to be deleted, in the same sense that some apps won't open the file it has open currently.) I read in another forum that the computers USB ports had been fried after a power surge!
Might work for someone.

Hi.

Take out the AC power jack and then remove the laptop battery. Plug AC power back in and see if the laptop will turn on. If it turns on let it boot the operating system and then shut down as normal, remove the power cord and reinsert the battery and again see if it will switch on. If it does then there has been a glitch with the battery. If it doesn't then there is a problem with the battery.

If the laptop won't switch on either with or without the battery then there is a possibility that the motherboard has developed a problem.

Good luck.

How to give ssid to my laptop

-please clarify. do you mean SSD?
-if yes, you can buy an SSD kit from known vendors like Western Digital of Segate or from any computer accessory retail store.
-you may need small philips head screw driver to open the hard drive compartment.
-NOTE: make sure that you are not voiding the hardware warranty of your laptop when you do this.
-choose the capacity that you need and it comes with instruction how to use the kit.
-normally what you will do is, you plug an external USB to SATA adapter onto the computer, plug the SSD on the other end. Install the software that comes with it, use the software to kinda clone the content of the built in drive to the SSD drive. After the clone process is done, you need to turn off the laptop, unplug the AC adapter, remove the battery pack, remove the hard drive that came with the laptop, put in the SSD, put back the battery pack, plug the AC adapter back in, then turn the computer on to test the SSD.
