Hello. I can see why you've had problems getting this info. Here's the deal. The brushes are vendor supported by a company called JinDing. They specify that they have two or three different sizes of brushes for that model of saw. What they need from you (to get the proper part #) is either the UL code ro the CSA number as well as the model number. With all that, give them the CTC part number as well. They tell me the price range is about $10 + tax + shipping. I recommend ordering at least 2 pair, just to make it worth while. The phone number you want is 1(877) 683-2082 ext 205 (cust service).

If this helped, please feel free to rate this thumbs-up!
Thank you,
Richard

Saw turns but when i try to cut it slows to a stop

If it is a belt driven saw, the belt needs replacing or tightening. Or if it's a direct drive it could possibly be the brushes need replacing or you have low voltage in your shop.

Saw just cut out light works but saw wont

The problem could be with the brushes or the power switch. The light will still work if either of these things are not working properly. The brushes should be between 1/2" and 1/8' long and should move freely in the brush holder. The spring should be long enough and strong enough to push the brush against the armature. If the brushes are OK do a continuity check on the switch contacts.

Cut off saw stopped working cord has power could it be bushings?

more likely it is the brushes, there should be two plastic plugs on the side of the motor case with slots for a screwdriver. remove the plugs and take the brushes out. they should have a replacement number on them if not the user manual may list them

My saw will cut for 5 seconds and then the blade stops spinning. When I back the blade out it starts again and the process is repeated. It takes a long time to cut wood this way. What's the problem? Is...

I would suspect a combination of the two! You blade probably isn't sharp and your saws brushes are probably getting worn. The brushes are made of carbon and are pushed up against the rotor by a spring. As the brush wears down the spring doesn't put as much pressure on the brushes which means it will stop working when placed under heavy load.

From snor38@gmail.com Hi dkhallquist. When you cleaned the comuntator did you carfully clean the groves as they may have enough trash to make the brushes ride roughly on the comuntator.

I just received a "LICOTA"

The extra brushes would likely be for the motor, and not used until the saw has LOTS of miles on it.
The allen usually backs off a clamp that holds the blade. In terms of metal and wood, the blade itself determines that. HOWEVER, Consider using and possibly distroying a WOOD blade. If there is metal in the wall, you usually do NOT want to cut that...!! I suggest cutting the drywall side first and see that there is nothing in the wall that you do not want to cut!!
The metal blade can cut wood, no worries.

How do I change brushes in a cutoff saw? I am not sure exactly how the new brushes are inserted with the locking screws. Do U just insert brushes and compress spring with screw on plastic lock nut?

Yes. That's all there is to it. Just insert the new brush, making sure there are no pieces of the old brush still in the holder, compress the spring and install the plastic cap.

Mastercraft 14-in. Chop Saw w/ Laser fuse problem

The fuse is more than likely, fine.
Instead, check the carbon brushes.
Once you have dis-assembled the unit, you will see the way the springs hold them in.
If you can't find the brushes, chances are, they've desintagrated into micron thick diamonds.
(Unfortunately, they're worthless diamonds lol)
Hope that helps the problem.
