Question about Evolis PEBBLE 4 Led Card Printer

I changed the ribbon to the monochrome R3012, but the printer has the NO RIBBON light on and it won't recognize it. I set the printing references to that ribbon style, the ribbon is not torn, I have made sure it is properly installed several times, I've turned the printer on and off several times and nothing. Please advice... maybe I am doing something wrong that I'm not aware of.

You may have installed ribbon incorrectly.
Align the gears of ribbon spindle with gears on printer and second important thing is that ribbon should come from up not from down.

Hi I got Evolis Pebble 4 and I have problem with printing the ribbon light is always ON and it does not print with YMCKO, but when I change to black ribbon K it prints. What is the problem.


It sounds like your ribbon setting in the printer-driver is set to the R2011 (or R2211) K ribbon. It should be set to R3011 for the full-color YMCKO ribbon. Check by locating the printer in the Windows Devices & Printers view (Win7: Start Button => Devices and Printers; WinXP: Start Button => Printers and Faxes). Locate your Pebble printer; right-click; select "Printing Preferences". Check your ribbon setting here and match to the ribbon that is loaded. NOTE that you can only make changes to this driver setting if you have Windows Admin rights with your Windows log-in ID. If you don't, have your systems administrator assist you with this by logging in with their ID.

The distributor is correct.
They are the same Ribbon.
Old Part Number : 552854-604
New Part Number :535000-003

PR-01724 Ribbon Break

The print ribbon is broken.

Possible Cause 1: The print ribbon has broken or is not installed.

Solution 1: Trim the broken ribbon evenly and tape the cut end of the ribbon to the ribbon on the take-up spool. Install the ribbon cartridge.
NOTE: Do not switch take-up spools when fixing.

Possible Cause 2: If the ribbon type is K or KT, the print ribbon is at the end of the roll.

Solution 2: Load a new roll of monochrome print ribbon.

Technical issues:

•If you have recently changed edge-to-edge settings using the SmartDriver, printing might be too close to the edge of the card. Change edge to edge settings.

•You might have moved the print ribbon while the printer power was off. The next card will print correctly. The printer is designed to allow you to fix problems while the printer power is on.

•If the print ribbon is stuck to the card, the Intensity setting might be so high that printing causes the ribbon to stick to the card. Lower the Intensity or power setting.

•The card design might be longer than the card size. Change the card design to be less than or equal to the card size in the long direction (3.37 inches or 85.60 mm).

•Printing might not be positioned properly on the card. Change the "Left/Right" position of printing (using the SmartDriver) so the printing begins and ends on the card.

If the printer is flashing "Ribbon in" then it sounds like the printer setting to Thermal Direct is being changed back to Thermal Trans. Verify this after sending a format. This is very common because the printer is bring over-ridden by the software and/or printer driver when you send a format.

Look for a setting in the software / driver for direct thermal and make the change there.

Datacard sp55 printer won't recognize ribbon


PR-01726 Ribbon Out
Out of print ribbon.
Possible Cause 1 : The print ribbon Cartridge is empty.

Solution 1 : Reload the print cartridge. Change the cleaning sleeve and replace the cartridge in the printer. Run a cleaning card as soon as printing is completed.

Possible Cause 2 : The printer ribbon is not loaded correctly.
Soultion 2 :Load the printer ribbon correctly and then close the cover.

Possible Cause 3 : This ribbon has been completely used.
Solution 3 : Use a new roll of ribbon.

Tips for Success
* When this message appears, replace the old ribbon with the new ribbon of the same type. The printer has already prepared the card data for this ribbon type. You can change the colors of monochrome ribbon (such as from dark blue to gold).

* If you must change the type of ribbon (such as (YMCKT to KT) when this message appears, install the new ribbon, cancel any cards waiting to print, and change the ribbon type settings. Finally, return to the card creation program to send the card data to print.

* If the ribbon was repaired, the wrong take-up spool was used. Repair the ribbon again, using the correct take-up spool.

If you cannot fix the problem contact your service provider for assistance.

Datacard sp35 is saying it has a k ribbon but really has the color ribbon. It will only print in monochrome


Most likly problems in order of most common,
Bad RFID radio tag in take up spool of printer ribbon,
Bad RFID reader in printer
Printer need firmware upgrade to help in reading weak tags.

Printer printing one color


Go to smart driver printer tool box, then select
brightness 0
contrast 0
sharpness 0
cyan -------centre----------
magenta ------centre----------
yellow -----centre-----------
From toll box select clean printer
Go to advanced setup
select monochrome
Down -3
Left 140
By doing all the above setting hope your problem will get solved , check the ribbon also , move two to three rounds change in the ribbon by manually .

My printer displays ribbon error. but there is ribbon inside


you can change which ribbon type is installed in the printing preferences of the printer driver.
make sure you have the right ribbon type selected.
CYMTKO vs. CYMTO, etc.

There is also a button that will auto detect the ribbon right underneath the pulldown menu.

Hello,
The printer does not know the the model of the ribbon installed and thinks it is a monochrome (single color) Print ribbon. You can verify this in the Driver toolbox under the supply tab, or in the advanced printing options.
The Datacard SP series printers use an RFID Radio freq. tag in the take up spool end of the ribbon. This identify s the ribbon model and supply use settings for the printer.
Make sure you have the most recent driver and firmware from Datacard, There is a firmware Update Available to help reading "weak" RFID tag's
Next try removing the RFID tag from another (old) ribbon and see if it that fixes the problem)
Aside from that you:
May have a counterfeit (non-Datacard) ribbon
A bad RFID tag
Someone removed your RFID tag
You need a firmware update (weak RFID tag)
A bad RFID reviver in the printer, which is a fairly cheap repair.
Basically try a new print ribbon if that does not correct the issue, have the printer serviced.

Evolis pebble 3 ribbon problem


Hi, did you change the ribbon type at the printer properties? You must choose the black ribbon or monochrome in old drivers.
