Question about Televison & Video

I have a Thomson DT16021S recordable digibox and have just moved house. When I try to scan for channels, it fuinds them all and the only option I get is to press the green button to scan again. If I press anything else, when I go to the programme guide - it is empty! Please help! Claire x

Where did u get the box? cant find one anyware. Saying that i am not sure i want one now if it plays up like you said

I had the same problem with mine and when I took it back to the shop I was told they have updated their software and this is a fault that they are looking into. I had to have a refund for my box. Pleased it was still under warranty

Sky box green light on permanent


Sounds as if the software is corrupt. Try a forced software update...

1) Switch the digibox off at the mains power, so no lights are displayed on the unit
2) Press and hold the BACK UP button on the digibox (not the remote control)
3) Whilst holding, switch the digibox back on at the mains power so the red standby light is displayed
4) Wait approximate. 10-20 seconds for the remaining 3 lights to display, at which point you can release the BACK UP button
5) Allow the digibox to download the latest software, which can take 10 minutes before returning to standby
6) Leave 60 seconds then power up as usual

A software update/refresh will leave your recordings intact. You won't lose anything.

If this doesn't solve your problem, then the next step is more drastic. It's a Full System Reset and Planner Rebuild. Be advised though: Your recordings are at risk!

1) Switch your digibox on
2) In sequence, press on your remote 'SERVICES > 4 > 0 > 1 > SELECT' (this will access the hidden menu)
3) Select the relevant option (usually the bottom two) and follow the on-screen prompts (note that it's likely your digibox will reboot between processes)
Applies to Sky+HD Digiboxes only, running latest EPG
1) Press Services on your remote control. 'Options' in the Top Menu will be highlighted in orange.
2) Press the Right arrow once to highlight 'Settings' in the Top Menu.
3) Now press the Down arrow once to highlight the 'settings' tab in the Middle Menu.
4) Press 0, 0,1, Select on your remote in quick succession. The 'Setup' tab will then be highlighted within a hidden menu.
5) Select the relevant option and follow the on-screen prompts (note that its likely your digibox will reboot between processes)
Sky Digibox Planner Rebuild / Full System Reset (if stuck in standby)
Applies to Sky+ and Sky+HD Digiboxes only

Same as above, but applies if your digibox is stuck in standby and you cannot get to the hidden menu:

1) Switch the digibox off at the mains power, so no lights are displayed on the unit
2) Press and hold the 'right and left arrow' buttons on the digibox (not the remote control)
3) Whilst holding, switch the digibox back on at the mains power so the red standby light is displayed
4) Wait approximate. 30 seconds for the blue Sky+ ring of lights to display, at which point you can release the 'right and left arrow' buttons
5) Press 'SELECT' on the digibox (not the remote control)
6) Now the system will format the hard drive, the blue Sky+ ring of lights should spin backwards
7) Allow the system to format, which can take 10 minutes before returning to standby
8) Try to power up!

My thomson freeview recorder has stopped giving me the option to record the series


Try going into main menu and settings then try to find factory reset .reset all . You may ahave to reload channels afterwards to do this go back to settings then installation then find the button to replace channels .let me know if you are successful . Hi, We have lost a lot of channels on our Pace dv3 digibox during the digital switchover in our area. Most of the advice I can find online is for a Sky+ digibox, rather than ours. Ours is just a 'Pace...


normally a factory reset would work other than that have you tried just re-scanning it as that would normally pick up channels that have been lost

My Thomson Top up TV box will not record. I go to the TV guide, press the R button. It then takes me to 'Planned Recordings' list. I press R again and the programme I want to record disapperas. I get...


Sounds to me like your hard drive is full. Do you use the topup tv part of the box? If not, deselect all the topup tv channels. This will free up a significant amount of drive. Failing that, you'll have to delete some of your programs, sorry!
To deselect topup tv channels;
Go into the menu option, Customise Top Up TV Anytime, and de-activate all the selected channels

I grew some more brain cells and realised there is a button on the remote control called "radio" and when I press it, it toggles between tv channels and radio channels.....

A wiring Schematic is not that you should be looking. What you need is large feeders to understand hot to connect to various ports to give your desired output.

Thomson DTI6300-16, The amber light constantly flashes, no red or amber lights appear! any help/advise would be welcome


Does your Thomson DTi6300 fail to power on normally and displays a solid amber light? During the past few days we have been made aware of an issue affecting a number of our customers with a Thomson DTi6300 box. Customers have been experiencing problems with their box failing to come out of standby mode and typically showing a constant amber light on the front panel.
 
This fault is due to a broadcast issue which  has led to a corrupt file being loaded onto the hard disk.
 
Only Thomson DTi6300 boxes have been affected. If you have been experiencing problems of this nature first of all try switching your box off at the wall and leave for twenty seconds. If this does not work, please try the following procedure.
  
Please note this will unfortunately cause recordings in your programme library to be lost which we?re very sorry about. You may have to try this procedure a few times in order to resolve the issue as it requires complete attention and precise timing.
 
1.       Disconnect the power supply from the unit by removing the power cable from the back of the box.
2.       Wait 20 seconds and then put the power cable back in while pressing the 'standby/power on' buttonrepeatedly on the front panel of the box.
3.       Release the standby button as soon as you see a light flash on the front of your box and thenimmediately press the arrow buttons on the front panel quickly and in the following sequence:  Up, Down, Left, Right (please note this is not the order the arrow buttons appear on the box).
4.       Your box should then show the amber light with the green light flashing until the disk re-format has been completed which will take around 60 seconds. The box should return to a solid red light (standby) automatically. If after 2 minutes your box still does not display a solid red light, please repeat steps 1-4.
5.       When you return to the TV GUIDE screen, you will now need to scan for channels to restore your Top Up TV channel logos. To do this, please select Option 4 (set-up) from the Main Menu, followed by option 1 (scan for channels).
6.       IMPORTANT: Once you have completed your channel scan, you will need to select option 5 from the Main Menu (Choose your channels) to re-select all those channel providers you would like Top Up TV to download shows from.
 
We?re really sorry if you have been affected by this issue and greatly regret any inconvenience this may have caused.

New sky digibox fitted. Cannot timer record satellite programmes


I encountered a similar problem when recording and I phoned Sky and they changed my settings to eliminate standby mode for me.
No problem any more.
