- its wifi light is green and its attached to the wireless network "communication error" is what it shows on screen on my laptop when I try to print wirelessly.
If you attach the printer via the usb cable the wifi light goes orange and you can print with no problems. The laptop is running vista and the wirless router is a Dlink DIR- 615 VER 2.2 WITH WPA 2 security enabled.
Thanks in advance for any help
-   Exactly same problem. Vista OS, unable to get output with wireless, so I tried it on an XP machine, same results.
Install software appears very buggy, printer is probably defective.

-   Cannot get ANY docs to print wirelessly ( or any other way) onto the 6500 thru my Netgear router. Printer is detected, green light is on. No printing tho. Using XP not vista. Made sure bidirectional printing is on, restarted computer and printer, no dice. A reinstall will work for a few times then it malfunctions again and won't print. Can't even print with the cable hooked up. Huge waste of time, going back to my little Epson, works like a charm every time. -   nagha326

-   I also can't print from the internet. Excell, windows, snag-it all print fine, but not items on the internet.
Did anyone find a solution for this problem with the Lexmark 6500? -   wilmingtonre

-   Exactly the same problem for me...It seems to be a vista conf issue.

I had to reinstall the printer and then it worked, nevertheless now I cannot print if I send it from the internet explorer, prints OK from all other applications (word, excel).
-check your firewall, it might be blocking your printer or your network -check also if the correct port is detected, just go to your printer and faxes and right click on your lexmark printer and click on properties, then under ports tab check your lexmark network port.
Hi hope this helps. 1. unplug printer for at least 5 minutes. 2. uninstall your printer software. 3. reinstall drivers and software at lexmark.com. 4. MAKE SURE THAT YOU INPUT YOUR PRINTERS MAC ADDRESS (its on the back of your printer) in your routers mac filtering section. 5. Go through the process of the installation 6. Make sure you do not connect your usb cable until the computer tells you to or else you will have to start all over. If this does not work one other option is to repeat this process with your wep security disabled. You can enable it after the installation is complete.

I have no problem with vista and worless connection to this printer, no problem at all.
I recommend uninstalling the printer and installing it again, this may fix the problem.

brother 1240 laser jet printer has jam in fuser unit. can not get to it from the front or back. it is entirely accordioned into the area by the fuser unit. Barely able to reach the paper with forceps and get only tiny pieces that tear off.
