Samsung LN-T4053H:
If this set is under warranty you should return it to get it repaired/replaced by the seller. If not then;
This sounds like the power supply board could be failing. The electrolytic capacitors on the board may need to be replaced. It may also be a voltage regulator.

IF YOU KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH ELECTRONICS REPAIR(soldering ) or have a friend with knowledge/skill you can fix it.

>Unplug the set and any cables.
>Remove the back cover. The power connects directly to the power supply board.

>look at the capacitors on the power supply board. If the top of any of them are bulging up then that is the problem.

>You will have to replace ALL the electrolytic capacitors except for perhaps the large one.
>Disconnect and remove the power supply board. Handle by the edges to prevent contaminates and static electricity.
> Use ones with the Low Equivalent Series Resistance ESR rating
> Use ones with the same farad rating

> Use ones with the same or higher voltage rating
> Use ones with high temperature rating
> Install one at a time to prevent mix-up and keep the polarity correct.

> Leave a space between the PC board and the bottom of the capacitors for expansion. They heat up.
> Replace power supply board and reconnect cables..
> Replace back cover.

Sources for some good capacitors are or NTE. Try for a local outlet of NTE products.
You can also search for other sources. Some companies even sell all the capacitors in a kit.

Total price of parts should be < $30.00

Yes you can buy a new power board but if the capacitors have not been replaced they will eventually fail also.

The power supply board looks like;

Not sure if this will help, but most caps fail with the in rush of power, over and over. Sounds like they were not made right. You might try a UPS ( uninterrupted Power Supply) this may help you with dirty power from your power company. And with high spikes. Make sure you get one that will handle the TV current draw. As far as upping the CAPs keep the same or slightly high voltage and increase in uf. You might find one that has the same uf and a higher voltage rating that will handle it.

You may have bad power supply or short circuits in the power supply or backlight inverter board, the power supply (or bad caps) is trying to start but sensing tto much current draw so it shut down and try to start again in a loop.

Call Samung customer service, they are doing this repair for free. I had the same problem at 11 months, they replaced the power supply board under warranty. At 2 years I had the exact same problem again and this time they replaced 2 - 50 cent capacitors on the power supply board. It took the repair man less than an hour and he had the replacement capacitors on hand. The original board and the replacement board they gave me had capacitors that were faulty. Hopefully these new capacitors will last. I have to say that I was thinking (no more samsung products for me) but I got excellent customer service and they admit that they had a faulty product and they accepted responsibility.

Samsung TV now takes over 30min to come on

There are a number of Capacitors on the IP/Power supply bd and they have gone bad. Replaced them with the proper Capacitance as the old ones are BUT get the 35 volt Caps. Going from 10v to 35v will fix this problem.

Samsung LN-S4051D 40 in. LCD Television will not turn on

Are the red lights still flashing after replacing the caps? Bulging caps usually means the caps are at the end of their life span, but shorted caps may look just fine. Check any caps that you did not replace to see if they are shorted. I bet you still have a bad cap somewhere on the power supply that is shorted.

My Samsung LN-T4665F LCD TV is slow to start.It clicks every 5to10 sec about four on five times before it comes on.

You have bad caps.on the power supply. They are under rated, 10volt insted of 16volt or more. about $2-3 each. usualy takes 4-6 of them. Or replace the whole power supply. But you will have the same problem in a couple of years. Best bet is to have the bad caps. replaced with the right voltage rateing,and you will not have to worry about it happening again. New power supply is...

Clicks on and off several times before staying on

The power supply will sense if the set is 'drawing' too much current and switch itself off. This could be the case here. The power supply board may eventually go completely bad.
