Hi, there is likely a problem in the power amp section that only becomes apparent when the increased volume demands sufficient current in that stage to push the amp into a potential component failure situation. The protect circuit clicks in and disconnects the speakers from the amp to protect them from damage should the power amp stage experience a catastrophic failure. Unless you are a trained technician, you should have the unit repaired before major damage occurs.

How do I put the unit in discover mode

Putting the Plantronics Voyager 510 into pairing mode:

With headset on, press and hold the call button and the volume up simultaneously until the headset begins to flash red and blue.

Select the Plantronics 510 headset in your phone when prompted and enter 0000 (4 zeros) as the PIN/passcode if prompted. When paired, the Voyager 510 headset should now have a continuous blinking blue light. Here is a link below for the step by step pairing instructions.

Denon avr-1708 receiver heats up and shuts off when volume turned up passed 0.0db or +0.5db. i am running 6-8" sonance 6oh speakers and have a fan blowing across the top of the receiver. it only...

Are you trying to kill it? A device has only so many emergency shut-offs it can withstand.

How are the spaces around the top, underside and back for ventilation?

0 dB isn't normally 'normal' volume.

I wonder if the fan is a self-defeating work-around because the noise might make you want to crank it up so higher so you can hear it.

Apple TV? Is it a dynamically-compressed audio signal? That would raise the average volume.

i think you have a main board problem and also moiture may have got to it .
electronics are not what they use to be and these days you really have to place them in the right spot or it wont last .
the main volume dial may require cleaning .

Denon AVR-1604 too large front speakers blew the avr

Try disconnecting the speakers at the receiver. turn it on radio or any other source and turn up the volume. If the receiver still shuts of, there is an internal capacitor issue and needs serviced. More than likely though, it's a speaker problem. If the speakers were underpowered and at max volume, chances are the damage was to a voice coil in one of the speakers. If the receiver continues to stay on without being connected it's ok. check your speaker wires as well. Frequently loose braids on wires touch each other and create very little resistance until turned up, more volume, more resistance. Then the receiver puts itself into protection mode so no damage will occur. If you need further help, post a comment and I can help you troubleshoot further.

Volume won't go past 30

Turn on. Set volume to 00. Press & hold the volume knob for about 10 sec., until you hear a beep. Then turn volume up to the maximum that you would ever want, and then press the volume button again. It is now set.

Avr Shuts down at high volume

It does that because there is a safety feature in all the newer devices. If your system is turned up to high you would blow your audio outputs or speakers. That's why it shuts off.

My AVR 2803 shuts down when volume is at medium or above.

too big a speaker load, unit sensors shut unit down when speaker impedance gets too low . and draws too much current at hi volume.A bad woofer or tweeter voice coil burned by sudden excess volume can cause this, also partially shorted speaker wires.

Intermittent breaks/pauses in sound

Yes. I had a H/K reciever in my shop last month with a similar problem. It turned out that it had micrscopic cracks developing on the motherboard, which caused it to shut down as they heated up. It wasn't repairable.

Unti shuts off at high volumes

You might have a damaged speaker which shorts out at high volume. Disconnect one speaker at a time and crank it to find the one that causes the problem.
