oh and I wouldn't "T' it I would "Y" it. One top leg of the Y goes to bath the other to your LR the bottom of the Y to the outside ;)

thanks joe, i was worried that if i turned my exaust on in my LR that it would go threw the Y and into my bathrrom as oposed to outside...

If you run it into a Y as opposed to a T you should be fine. If you have problems you can always install a directional flap, kina like those on a dryer exaust that only open when the air is forced.

Our new bathroom fan is not clearing the room the ceiling is wet and the paint peeling the fan is model #FV-LP003

I use to be a chimney sweep. One of my jobs was to clean vents for dryers and bath vents. What could be your problem is that you have a bird nest in the vent system. It sounds to me that you have a vent on the roof for the fan. A bird could have damaged the cap to gain entrance and built a nest. With the cap gone, rain can come in. With the nest, it will not vent out the room. You could call your local chimney sweep company and they will clean it for you. Or if you are capable, Lowe's or Home Depot sell dryer vent cleaning rods. They are sturdy but flexible rods with a 4" brush on the end. Two other handy tools will be a high power shop vac to **** out anything from inside the vent, and a high power blower that has vacuum capability to use out side the house. Cafe full though, if it pulls out a nest, it will shoot it out with great force.

The vent fan must be exhausted into the outside air via a 4 inch flex duct, this may be difficult if installed in the wall!

Odors are backing into the bathroom after installing the whiperfit

try to install the fan at a lower height so that it can drive out all the smoke. This is because the fan can driveout air with in a certain radius and installing it at a lower height increases it..

If you are not very handy I don't think I'd tackle this project. There's going to be drywall cutting, backing to install, attic crawling, wiring, ducting to attach, proper insulating. As an electrician I've done this sort of thing in between 1 and 2 hours, depending on how smooth things go. If you find somebody you trust that's done it before who is willing do to it on the side for cash you're looking at $25-$60 for labor. Is it worth it to you?
