After installing a new ink the brown zip cord that moves it back fourth come loose how can i fix it at home. i have a cannon mx310 printer

Normal 0 Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

I tried this and it worked (thanks to a suggestion from someone else but can't find his name right now) --

I found a slender piece of cardboard, the front off one of my 1-subject notebooks. I cut the jagged edges off, made sure there wasn't any debris or loose crumbs of paper. Put about 20 sheets of paper into the printer and put this cardboard as the first sheet. Pressed the copy button. When it started to attempt to feed, I forced it through.

What did it find?? A moth had flown into the printer at some time, gotten smushed, smashed and stuck -- and was preventing the paper from feeding through! OMG, I almost tossed this Canon MP210 in the garbarge.

So thanks to you guys with ideas about cardboard and a little muscle. I ran another piece through just to clean out all the stickiness (and the remnants of the moth's body). Works fine now.

So you cant get the ink tanks in place properly?

Have you tried this method to ensure they're properly seated? Is the printer on or off when you try to seat the tanks?

Refer to the following steps to verify the ink tanks are seated correctly:

1. Confirm that the printer is powered on and press the Open button. (The paper output tray will open.)
   
   
   
   
2. Lift the scanning unit (printer cover) completely. (The print head will move to the replacement position.)
   
   
   
   
3. Open the inner cover.
   
   CAUTION:
   a. Do not try to manually move or stop the Print Head Holder.
   b. Do not touch any metal parts.
   
   
4. Press down on the ink tank until a click is heard, thereby making sure the ink tank is seated properly.
   
   
   
   Note:
   Make sure that the ink tank is inserted in the slot that corresponds to the ink tank's color.
   
   
   
5. Ensure that all the ink tanks are installed properly and the ink tank lamps light red.
   
   
   
   Note:
   Ink Tank Lamp
   You can check the status of each ink tank according to the way its lamp flashes.
6. • - On: The printer is ready to print.
   • - Slow flashing (at about three second interval): Ink is low. Prepare a new ink tank.
   • - Fast flashing (at about one second interval): Ink tank is empty, or the printer is not ready due to an error.
   • - Off: An error has occurred and the printer is not ready to print.
     
7. Close the inner cover and the scanning unit (printer cover).
   
   Note:
   
8. 1. When closing the scanning unit (printer cover), be careful not to jam your finger.
      
   2. When starting printing next time, the print head cleaning launches automatically.

Hello,

You can print documents even after the cartridge has run out of color ink except that it cant print color documents properly or cannot print them at all.

It cannot print color documents properly because a color cartridge can have 3 colors if any of these colors is exhausted then it wont print that color at all.

But this wont affect black and gray scale printing.

So nothing to worry.
