Question about Washing Machines
E40 refers to a door interlock failure and E41 refers to a faulty connection between the computer board and the control board. Unplug the unit before anything is done!
You have to take the top rear cover off to access this and check the connections between the two.
You might also want to remove the PCB from the white plastic housing and inspect for any burnt tracks on the board. If it looks good you should be able to firmly plug the harnesses back in and be good to go.
This poor design is a common problem and results in connections coming loose due to miniscule vibrations from machine operations
