SOURCE: NO COLD WATER

Ray, a little additional information to the excellent info Zeusfaber gave. The inlet valve is 120V. If you want you can take a cheater cord and see if the valve is funtional. If it works with 120V to it, you may have a problem with the automatic temp. control board. This board mounts directly behind the timer, if your model has it. (Automatic temp settings). I've seen it where if this board fails, you get a hot fill only. Carefull with the test cord, live juice there...Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: Water flows in cold side of water valve and out hot side valve

It seems unlikely that something went wrong just from moving it unless it got banged up!
It sounds like you may have stripped the hot side.
I'm assuming the water is going in the cold side and out the hot side and out the back.
If this is so and you are happy with just cold water try this:
Go to a Plumbing Store and buy a cap for the leaking intake...if it still leaks you can try soldering the two together!
I hope this was helpful.
Good Luck!

SOURCE: maytag neptne fav 6800 aww does not fill wiht hot water. works fi

Hi Big Wags

I would remove both water hoses at the back of the washer and check the Hot & Cold inlet screens for a clog/restriction.

They look like this;

16bd3b6.jpg

You can turn the individual valves on in service mode using the procedure on page 16 of the Service Manual.

To enter Service Mode; press and hold simultaneously the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or until the control beeps and the display reads “00”.

Now go into board output test by pressing the Delicates key.

Now press the Normal button to open the Hot Water Valve you can press the Normal button again to turn off the valve or just press the Off button to end the process. Or just use the wash cycle to toggle the H/C water valves on. I like folks to become familiar with using Service Mode and the SM.

If the inlet screens are free of debris and you have good water pressure from your source valve then you may have to replace the valve assembly Here is a link to check for FAV6800AW PARTS Sears Parts Direct. Shout back If you have questions. Rich

Water not filling very quick

Hi Jeanine,

Lets do the easy - inexpensive check / repair first:

Shut off the water
supply at the input to the hose. Turn the washer on to warm to allow water pressure in the hose to be relieved. It should take only a second or two to do this.

Shut the machine OFF.

Mark the hoses H and C (or other marking you choose) on both ends to match Hot and Cold water.

Disconnect the hoses completely.

Check for and remove any sediment (and other debris) caught in the screen mesh-type filter in the end of the hose and at the hot and cold water input connections on the washer.

Check condition of the rubber washers in the hose ends and replace as needed.

Connect the hose to the supply side and hold the other ends into the washer tub or other wide mouth container or bucket.

Turn the water ON and then OFF momentarily to flush the hoses while holding the hose ends. You should see a high volume stream from both hoses.

Reconnect to the washer side connection (after making sure the washers are still in place).

Tighten hoses to hand tight - plus an additional 1/4 turn.

Turn on the water supply

Make an initial check for leaks and drips at both ends of the hose. Correct as needed. Check again after 5 minutes. Correct as needed and repeat this step.

At this point, the flow of water to the washer has either been verified or corrected. If there is still an issue with water flow it is likely a problem with the valve inside the washer (has the hose connections sticking out the back of the machine. You can attempt to replace it yourself or turn the problem over to an appliance repairer.

Good luck!

I want to uninstall my maytag , is it connected by a flexi hose for the water suply?

You must first find the shut off for your water supply. In most cases your supply line is connected under your kitchen sink to the cold water supply pipe. It will either have a shut off valve soldered into the pipe or a clamp device over the pipe with a shut off valve. Make sure it is off all the way. Then you can disconnect your line at back of fridge. Some water will be present when disconnecting. Have small container to catch water and some towels ready.

I am having difficulties replacing the water valve on my maytag top load washer, model mav208daww. How do I get to it?

Hi.

Disconnect power cord or trip circuit breaker. Unplug the water hoses after turning off the water supply. Using a screwdriver, release and lift up the washer top panel. Using needle nose pliers, disconnect the wires from the old valve, and undo the hose that feeds water into the tub. From the back of the washer, I undo the screw holding the valve in place. Remove the old valve. Connect electrical wires and hose to the new inlet valve before installing the valve. Screw the valve back in place and reattach the hot and cold water hoses, close the top of the washer, turn on the water supply, and connect power back.

Below a diagram. The valve is part 14. Click on the picture to enlarge.

My washer gives an nF code. I have disconnected the hoses and cleaned the screens and hoses. Still get error. I believe it is clogged where the hose enters the washer at the inlet valves. How do I remove...

Hello,The "nf" code is a "no-fill" fault. This indicates that your washing is not getting water supplied to it, or the pressure isn't substantial enough to complete a fill. You need to, first, make sure the water supply is turned on. Second, if the water IS turned on, and you're still not getting anything to your washer, you may have a fill valve problem. The fill valve is what both your hoses connect to on the back of the machine. It can become clogged with sediment over time (especially, if you have hard water or well water). Turn the water supply off and remove both hoses from the back of the washer. Check both these hose connections for clogs in the filter screens. If they are clear, then more than likely the fill valve has gone bad.
Thanks

Washer will not fill with water. How do you clean hose filter screen? where is it located?

Hose filter screens are located inside the screw-on hose connectors at both ends of the hose. Turn off the water supply. Unscrew the hose from the water supply and look inside the end of the hose for the filter screen. Do the same where the hose is connected to the washer.

This fill hose is leaking on my maytag a612 washing machine. It is leaking at the little plastic thing that the hose runs through. Is it possible just to bypass whatever that is?

Hi FordMan! The little thing is the water inlet valve and it is not possible to bypass it, since that is what allows the water to flow into the washer and is what also shuts the water off, once the tub is at the level needed or selected.

However, you might discover that if you shut off the main water supply valves at the house connection point, you can just tighten the hose connection at the water valve, as it might just be a little bit loose.

If that's not the problem, remove both the hot and cold water supply hoses from the washer side and replace the rubber washers in the hose ends.

And if that doesn't resolve the leaking problem, you'll have to replace the water inlet valve to stop the leak. But try the first 2 steps before you move onto replacing the valve.

If you discover you need a new valve, you can go to www.searspartsdirect.ocm and with the full model number of your washer, locate the replacement valve and see a line drawing of your washer and get the price for the valve. This is an easy repair for most DIYr's to tackle and you should be able to do it, once you've got the parts, in about 20-30 minutes with just a couple of common hand tools. Just remember to unplug the washer before attempting any repair and turn off the water supply connection at the wall near the washer.

I will suggest, as the manufacturers all do these days, that if your machine is over 8-10 years old, you also replace both the Hot and Cold water supply hoses, as hoses tend to start to break down after 8 years and could rupture causing extensive water damage, etc.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
