Question about Health & Beauty

I have just replaced the batteries in a jazzy motorized wheelchair. The chair is operating fine but I can't get the battery charger to work. It doesn't light up when I plug it in. What do you suggest I do?

Hi, check the battery charger. Examine the red indicator on the charger. A solid red light shows power to the charger. A flashing red light indicates an interruption in power. To restore power to the battery charger, press the "Reset" button.
If it is an off board charger, check the pins in the conncector to be sure that one has not been pushed back. On board, check to see if the amp meter moves at all.
If after pressing the reset button, the charger does not work, it is time you replace the charger..

How do I charge my battery I try with the charger and will not charge it

The user manual warns that if the batteries are discharged to nearly zero, the charger will not operate. So the batteries may require replacement. See p29

file:///C:/Users/Geoff/Downloads/US_Jazzy_600_om.pdf

Alternatively the charger may be faulty. In either case contect the distributor for the chair.

How many AMPS should the Charger be for a Jazzy Select Power Chair

3A should be fine. Pride uses 3A for other models with two U1 batteries. Make sure they're wheelchair batteries: gel or AGM. Not car batteries.

My jazzy 600 electric wheelchair won't stay on unless its plugged in

Replace the batteries. Your charger appears to be supplying the power to the chair and when you unplug the charger the batteries are not continuing the same amount of power and the chair will not stay on.

Power light is on the charger but no movement from the jazzy select chair

You have to disconnect the charger in order for the chair to move. It automatically removes power from the controller while the batteries charge.

Have the batteries load tested. If they have worn down past the point of no return then they will not take anymore charge. Then the charger will tell you that they are fully charged.
