really need make and model but if it is a panasonic and it has inverter on the door it maybe the magntron and or the inverter pcb u need to unplug the unit and remove the outer screws when the lid is removed then on the right hand side of the unit as you look at it you will see a square box in the middle will have the number 210 or 236 on it if u can take a look down the open side of the box this is the magnetron you may see a crack in the magnets of the magnetron if you do not see a crack it may still be the magnetron you will not know for sure until you fit a new one also you will not know if the inverter has become faulty when you fit the new magnetron then test the unit if it still cuts out then you will know if the inverter pcb is ok or not if it still cuts out then it will be the inverter as well this info is only for panasonic inverter microwaves only
