So you have a 3month live membership and are positive you still have Xbox live but cant seem to play with anyone online.
This can only be because you have either been banned from Xbox live for what ever reason or you simply ran out of your 3 months

We have played the xbox call of duty for 3 months. game now telling us that profile could not be used . wanted us to renew our gold membership. the console was preowned. do we have to renew or can we...

To play ONLINE Call of Duty then you will need a Gold account. I am assuming that you had bought a 3 month membership to Gold and that is why it has run out?

If the Xbox 360 is used then you still might have a few free trial periods free for 1 month Xbox Live. If I recall previously you could load up to 4 trial accounts. So try just creating a new user profile and see if it doesn't give you one month free for that account? If not then the previous owner has used all the trial accounts.

Make sure you don't use a credit card when signing up to Xbox Live though... it will automatically be set to charge you for renewal when your Gold Account runs out.

If you have to get a Gold account then I recommend you purchase the Live cards at your local store. Some people go onto Ebay and find cheap deals... but I have heard of a few people complain when getting cards that don't work.

Son purchased yearly Gold membership thinking two players could use it second player not able to use. Why?

Hi. Your son most likely bought the Gold membership to XBOX Live thinking that it was an XBOX Live Gold Family Pack. A single Gold membership costs $59.99 USD. An XBOX Live Gold Family Pack costs $99.99 USD. With the family pack, you get four 12-month Xbox LIVE Gold memberships for less than the price of two. Two players cannot use a single Gold membership, but if they play on the same console, then two players could share one membership. Also, certain games, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops and Halo:Reach allow players to play online multiplayer games together with one "guest" player at the same time, on the same TV. I hope this cleared everything up.

When ever i create a new account with xboxlive i can go on market place and stuff but i can play online???

Are the accounts you are creating "silver" accounts? If so those accounts only allow you to keep track of your game saves, achievements, and to purchase and download content. They do NOT allow you to play against other online. To do that you need to sign up for xbox live Gold. The Gold membership runs $25 for 3 months or $59 for 12 months. When you become a gold member, you can then play against others online.

Also, if you purchase a code and activate it, the account that is signed in is the account that becomes gold. Very important to double check before you buy in case you have multiple users in your household.

Trying to play online but message "this profile is not allowed to play on xbox live" what do I need to do to fix this issue?

to play online you must pay for an xbox live gold subscription. you can do it on your xbox where it says upgrade profile, online at the xbox website under the my xbox tab, then accounts, then under membership options choose upgrade/manage account or you can buy a gold subscription card at any games store. the smallest you can get is 1 month for just over ten dollars, or 12 month which is usually about 80 dollars. note that you need a valid credit or debit card to purchase online.

Could you tell me in steps how to conect to xbox live

Step 1 Form your Xbox 360 you need to be connected to the Internet by a straight LAN line or wirelessly. You can test you connection by going to the setting screen on your Xbox 360.
  • Step 2 Once connected to the Internet for your Xbox 360 go to your main account screen and find the tab that says "Join Xbox LIVE" click on that link then follow the simple instructions that the Xbox LIVE will provide. At this point you should have a name in mind for your gamer tag.
  • Step 3 Xbox 360 LIVE has several different options available for memberships. They are a monthly, 3-month and 12-month membership accounts. I would recommend a simple one month account if you just wanted to check out the features offered on XBOX 360 LIVE. If your an avid gamer and love to play games online with friends, the 12-month Gold membership is the way to go.
  • Step 4 Once you've completed the process of joining Xbox 360 LIVE, they will send you a confirmation email confirming your membership. Now you can log on to Xbox 360 LIVE and start doing this like customizing your avatar and playing online multi-player games.

Trying to connect to xbox live

go to the "connect to xbox live" prompt, make a profile and then follow each step
F.Y.I. every xbox 360 has 3 free 1 months on it already. when it asks you which membership you want, 1 month up to a year. go to the one on bottom "revert to silver", it will automatically give you a free 1 month gold membership for your gaming pleasure and you wont have to give any credit card info.

My subscription to xbox live membership ran out, but I don't know if I get another one , I will loose my friends, gamertag, stuff I downloaded, etc.

ok this is a very easy question. when your xbox live mombership runs out, it juyst means that you are disconnected from the internet(playing online with friends ect...) and all you have to do is go to best buy and get either a 1 month card(usually $7.99), a 3 month card(usually $19.99), or a 12 month card(usually $49.99-$59.99. the 12 month cards also come with 1 month free). so you wont lose anything just by buying a new membership. HAPPY GAMING!!
