Question about Dryers

1 Answer

I have the same problem with my crosley dryer not working. The timer runs, the door switch moves in and out. How do I tell if the switch is working and if that is not the problem, what might be?

Make sure to have the unit unplugged.

You will need to check the thermal fuses on the dryer.they are normally located near the heating element. If you have a volt meter you will need to check the continuity of all the thermal fuses ad if you find one that has not got any continuity replace it.

I do have a picture of the locations of the thermal fuses for some dryer in my tips.To test the door switch then you will need to remove the wires from the switch and test it the same way when you push the switch in by hand the meter should have a tone or read zero this is good if there is no tone or does not read zero then it is bad.

Also make sure the unit has enough power to it.
Thanks for choosing fixya i hope this will solve your problem

Crosley CDC610B Freestanding dishwasher The dial hums when I try to start the dishwasher. If I open the door and bang on the inside of where the timer is a few times, then slam it shut, the dishwasher...

I am a homeowner. I am not familiar with that model. I have a built in Maytag dishwasher and the timer is on an electronic circuit board. Yours sounds like a mechanical timer, may have plastic gears/moving parts similar to the timer on my maytag dryer. You will have to open up your door and expose the timer. I would imagine it will have a wire harness. Without knowing the anatomy of your dishwasher, I would imagine there are screws securing the interior panel (facing the inside of the dishwasher) to the exterior panel. You may need to remove all or some of these screws to expose the control panel's guts (which includes the timer) On my dishwasher only the top screws needed to be removed. I was able to replace the circuit board and get my dishwasher working again. Once you expose the timer you can go from there. I found a link: https://www.ebay.ca/b/Crosley-Major-Appliances-Parts-Accessories/20710/bn_3163310 that may be of help. Good luck!

Dryer will not start

Dryers are quite simple. Just a timer and a door interlock switch.

The timer tells the machine what to do and for how long.

The door interlock switch tells the machine the door is closed and it is safe to start.

TURN THE BREAKER OFF. DRYERS RUN ON 220V AND WILL KILL YOU IN A HEARTBEAT.

Open the door and look inside the door frame for a pin switch. It should move in and out freely. If it is jammed in it will not start. Pull our with pliers if jammed and gently press in and out a few time to free it up.

Not it?

I don't know which machine you have so I can't tell you the exact location of screws etc so the following is generic.

Open the machine and check for voltage across the door switch. Proper operation of the door switch.

Timer.
Check for voltage at the timer.
Check for voltage at the start switch.

If you have voltage at the timer, door closed. It is the timer that needs to be replaced.

Hope this helps.

My Crosley dryer not drying

You will have to ensure the tub belt is not broken or off the motor pulley. Also, you may have a bad push to start switch or door closed switch. Open door and manual hold in door switch and have someone to push the start button if there is any sound or attempt to start these switchs are most likely good and your problem is with the belt. Hope this helps God Bless

Crosley Dryer won't start

https://www.partselect.com/Models/CDE22B6V/Manufacturer/1/

This could be one of several things. There is a switch connected to the belt on the drum and if the belt slips of breaks the dryer wont start. There is also a possibility the timer is worn out
