Can not get a scan option on my HP photosmart 3310 printer. For your information I have a Mac.

SOURCE: Error HP Photosmart 3310. No strart print, no scanning...

I have a Photosmart C6180 all in one and get an error message 0xc18a0101 Ink System has failed. Unable to copy, receive faxes or print. Refer to printer documentation. Error: 0xc18a101.

I put new cartridges in and tried to recalibrate as mentioned by someone on the board. Can anyone help, please?

SOURCE: Can't scan from HP Photosmart C7280 to my Mac Computer

The best way to scan documents from the scanner to your computer is to use HP Photosmart Essential. If you don`t already have it installed it can be downloaded from the HP site. Once in the program it is very simple to follow. It is basically a point and click operation.

I had the same problem and this is what I did to fix it.

Go to control panel
choose printers
look to left and find scanners and cameras
click scanner
a pop up should direct you to scanning options and will lead your scanner to scan the item

Ink may be new, but their nozzles may be blocked; depending on manner of storage. To be sure apply a folded tissue paper to the ink nuzzle and press firmly. If the tissue comes off well blotted with ink it means you still have a good amount of ink in it and the nozzle is not blocked. If not blotted or scantily blotted, it means ink is really low or nuzzle is blocked. To be very sure of this, place nuzzle in a plate/saucer with a bit water so that the nuzzle is soaked. Leave for about 10 minutes. Then apply the tissue again. If still not well blotted it means ink is really low or empty. If new you should return it for a replacement. In the case of blocked nozzles, the procedure may be repeated over to get results.
If this doesn't work let me know.

How do I setup scan?


Kindly install the scanner software for printer..You just re install the driver software cd it will automatically install the missing components.
Which is contains the hp director software. Which shows the scanning option For normal scanning you can choose the option of Scanners and Cameras wizard in control panel. But it is better if you have software disk of printer because it contains more option.

Lost the scan ability from my printer.


I have this problem most times that I upgrade OSX. I remove the printer in system preferences, download the latest drivers from HP and then re-install. It's working better than ever now with Snow Leopard.

"no scan options error" appeared


Try ths:
This happens mainly when you try to scan from the printer ;
Always try to scan from HP solution center but still here is the resolution:
Open Hp Solution center
Click on Settings
Click on scn settings
click on Scan to Setup
Select all the option available to updrade the Front panel menu list and click on ADD
Click on Update;
Restart the computer and the printer and try to scan.
It should resolve the issue.

Carriage Belt is worn and slipping 3310 HP. Where do I purchase?


The 3310 parts are not distributed anymore.

This is one of biggest sellers, and does not have any part listed for 3310:HP Photosmart Printer Parts.

The only option is grabbing spares from Ebay, like this one below:

Open the HP application that is installed in your computer. You need to click on the scan option and it will work
