Somebody had the same problems with this too.
Go to Window Task Manager and take a look what program is running.
Sometimes Vista is still Running with Video Player and probably got interrupted and loose the Sound.
Try to check all, close all, restart and should be good.
If not try to reinstall Vista, backups will help.
Don't forget You need very big hard memory for vista if not some of Vista components just stopping to work.

There is no sound from the laptop!

Please provide more information like:
- Which OS Windows XP/Vista/7 or 8,
- What is your computer make and model,
- Which configuration you have now for soud (to check follow the steps doing screen shots):
Right click volume icon (next to clock right down corner),
Select sounds,
Select playback header,
Select speakers (default device) and select properties.
Check settings in all headers.

Make sure you have turned on the blue tooth in your mobile phone and it is on and ready in the laptop also. Make sure you have also installed the driver for the blue tooth in the Laptop.

Sound is very low and all volume controls seems to be turned up

if its a laptop you will find a volume control on the side or front of the laptop, which works in conjunction with the on-screen controls.

No audio output devise is installed

1. Go into Control Panel
2. Switch to Classic View
3. Open the Device Manager
4. Open the Sound folder
5. Clicked on the device
6. Disable the device
7. Enable the device

It should now detect the audio device

Go to HP and reinstall your driver. Vista is really good and making sure some of your drivers will delete when installing certain updates. There is one, that you will lose your NEtwork card, graphics, modem.

Headfon port is not functioning

only i can advice you sir is do not use a upgrade program for your vista instead use a full version vista OS so that you would not have the same problem again... i share this to you because i have encounter it just like i am using a windows XP and i just download a vista visualation tweaker so it would look like vista... just try to download it at type in vista dock.. its not an ordinary dock but its so nice.... hope i help...
