Failed inspection because monitor evap not ready and monitor secondary air not ready. do i have to drive a certain way in or to reset

You DO NOT go to inspection without either
working on all vehicles or at least use a professional
scanner to see if all 8 monitors have run

If they haven't run or you have a fault code after they run,
you fail inspection

So you get the Evap Codes, diagnose that system & it's components, until you find where a vacuum leak is or what
solenoid failed.

That is best done at a shop with a smoke machine & knowledge

Emission Monitors run on their own every few days

What your referring to is Drive Cycles after certain repairs
have been made

You don't do them either,a shop does before you get the car
back or they are useless & you don't go their, too technical
for you to do & the info has to be looked up

You need a clear piece of roadway with no traffic to to Drive

Just had the truck worked on and tried to go thru Marta inspection and it failed - they said there is a drive cycle that I need to go thru before it will pass - what is the drive cycle

Drive cycles vary by manufacturer. It can be as simple as driving at highways speeds for a certain number of miles, or it can bea number of times the vehicle is started and warmed up, then turned off to cool down. A new car dealership service department may be able to tell you what the drive cycle is for your particular vehicle. Anytime you clear the computer on your vehicle, either by using a scanner, or removing power from the computer, you must go through the designated number of drive cycles to reset the computer diagnostics. It's a lousy system, and the auto industry should be required to conform to some kind of standard for all vehicles, regardless of make and model. But, for now, it's not clear exactly what you need to do to achieve the required drive cycles. If your inspection has expired, keep the documents you received when your vehicle failed the last test, just in case you get pulled over by the police.

Can i clear warnings off my truck with the computer on the truck without going to the dealership

do you mean check engine light and codes in computer being cleared ? if so yes you can clear them with a cheap code scanner from an auto parts store 49-59 dollar scanner works great but you cant clear the codes and go for an inspection the emission system will show not ready for about 50 miles then the light will come back on if there is a bad sensor that is not fixed hope this helps

Our bmw 525i has the light on due to low temp of coolant. We need to get the car checked by the state emissions testor. I would like to reset the light and deal with the minor problem later Thanks

When they start the inspection, the states computer
will read that codes have been recently deleted. This
will get you an automatic rejection. I know it will in mass. I would stop by an inspection station and ask
if your engine temp. can keep you from passing.
But if you wan't to clear the codes. Go by an autozone/napa or advance auto parts. They will clear
the code for free. Hope this helps. Good luck.

You need the interface module and the OBD software to clear the trouble code; clearing the trouble code will then turn off the light. FYI - after clearing the trouble code, you have to drive about 40 -50 miles before the vehicle is ready for inspection test

Trying to install an automatic transmission into a 1970 vw bug that originally was a manual. Where do I hook up the vacuum line that runs off the new automatic transmission?

you will have to put a T in the pipe that runs to the brake servo or better still drill and tap a connector in close to the carb .Why you want an auto box when you have a manual thats original fitting i cant work out because you have detracted from the original. Will you not have a problem with the paperwork either ,like changing the technical specification on the registration document ???have to have the vehicle inspected by a technical engineer ,a copy of the manufacturers certificate of homiglonation .Then a certificate from the main dealer that they fitted it and it conforms to the manufacturers standards .Then taken to the vehicle inspection place for an annual mechanical inspection to check thats its been installed correctly .lastly the registration document presented in the local traffic office with the appropiate paperwork duely signed and STAMPED along with another form from the appropiate office that duty in the change of value of the vehicle has been paid. This form can only be filled in over the internet by an official accountant who has the correct digital authorisation ,this will cost another 40euros alone .So at the end of the day its not worth the bother ,and anyway who wants to drive an old granny car with auto anyway,us spanish are real men we only drive manuals so we are in control

For inspection reads "not ready"

they are right, if the right combination of driving is not done the system will never clear out of it's not ready status, the manual calls this the drive cycle test. Have/ask the dealer give u a copy of the page in the factory emissions repair manual that describes the way u must drive the car to clear the system and make it ready for testing.

Need to Pass Inspection - P0174 & P0171 codes

it is very possible that the tech caused the light to come on, and yes again your local autozone will be able to clear the code for you but keep in mind if there is truely a problem the light will come back on.

Cant get rid of blinking error message, nothing works

H4-00 is a fuser related service code. you need to get into the simulation programs and run sim 14 to reset the code. Make sure there is no paper jammed in the fuser. (The hot part on the right side inside the door)
