HP printer Cartriges

Since going on to WIN XP, I can no longer find any information about the state of my cartriges, i.e a visual of both my cartiges.
I am aware that my printer tells me by positioning itself when I open the lid, but I did used to have a position on the All programmes list, not any more.
Can you help please, I am running a HP deskjet 930c.

Why is my printer not printing right

This sounds like the chip on the ink cartrige, try cleaning the chip or replacing the red magenta ink. How a printer works, information from the Dynamic Link Libary is sent to the printer driver, this information is where to print on the paper and what colour to print, ie turning the ink jets on and off, the depth of colour comes from each ink by mixing the inks from the information in the photo or text. All ink problems are usually from ink faults, miss printing comes from driver information. Phill

Hello
I believe the ink cartridge should have ink but not sufficient for printing, if the cartridge is expensive why dont you re-fill it, re-filling is very low cost option.
Also clean the contacts of cartridge from both ends.
Hope this helps, if so do rate the solution Good Luck

You find out the model number (usually printed on front left or right hand side of printer) and follow instructions given by the manufacture to install your printer cartriges.

Ink cartriges not being recognized by printer

It is not uncommon for an Epson printer to fail to recognise Epson cartridges. It is either due to failing to go through the proper cartridge replacement cycle properly, or more seriously, due to a communication problem between the cartridge and the main board. To fix the first, simply go through the cartridge replacement cycle again (see your manual how to do this before the cartridges are empty). Simply take your new cartridges out when told to, and put them back in again when told to insert the "new" cartridges. If it's the second problem you need specialist help, or simply sell your printer on e-bay for what you can get.

MP140 do not recognize cartrige

Ensure that you are using original cartridges.

Clean the cartridge sensor inside the printer ink carriage with isopropyl alcohol and cotton. From description it looks like a faulty cartridge contact.

The cartridge sensor is the metal plaque that connects to the cartridge chip, is located inside the printer carriage.

I can only suggest that you should use genuine HP ink carts. Try all new carts and realign again. Hopefully it is under warranty. HP is good at exchanging.
