Mine also clicks sometimes, but it is not the hard drive clicking, it is the DOCK! I have to pull the drive out and then put it back in, sometimes a couple of times, before it will start up and not just click. According to Disk Utilities, the hard drive itself shows no problems.

If you hear a repetitive clicking noise from the disk, I'm afraid it will no longer work. That is an indication that the disk's heads are failing to read from the disk, or in other words that the disk is faulty.
If it's still under warranty you could (and should) get it replaced. Hope you have a backup of all the important files in it!

My Western digital wd2500do32-000 hard drive is clicking on start up and wont mount

A clicking hard drive is a faulty hard drive, known as "the click of death".
There are companies that can retrieve daya from faulty hard drives BUT it will cost you an arm and a leg for their services.
If you want to recover your data then, I suggest you Google the Internet for these companies.

Drive making a clicking noise and not mounting

Not good... Sounds like a hardware failure in the drive. That clicking sound is the solenoid inside the drive. Hope its under warranty.

I am trying to free up space on my c drive in order to install a game. I have deleted everything not essential. I have 33 g on my D drive, is there anyway i can move that space over to c?

Yes you can. Your OS needs to be Win XP Professional in this case and needs to be NTFS.
This is called 'Mount Drive'.
A Mounted Drive is a drive that is mapped to an empty folder on a volume that uses the NTFS file system. Mounted drives function as any other drives, but they are assigned drive paths instead of drive letters. When you view a mounted drive in Windows Explorer, it appears as a drive icon in the path in which it is mounted.

You can also use mounted drives when you need additional storage space on a volume. If you map a folder on that volume to another volume with available disk space (for example, 20 gigabytes), you extend the storage space of the volume by 20 gigabytes (GB).

This is how to.... loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation');
  1. Click Start, click Run, and then type compmgmt.msc in the Open box.
  2. In the left pane, click Disk Management.
  3. Right-click the partition or volume that you want to mount, and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Click Mount in the following empty NTFS folder (if it is not already selected), and then use one of the following steps:
    • Type the path to an empty folder on an NTFS volume, and then click OK.
    • Click Browse, locate the empty NTFS folder, click OK, and then click OK.
    • If you have not yet created an empty folder, click Browse, click New Folder to create an empty folder on an NTFS volume, type a name for the new folder (eg. Games), click OK, and then click OK.
  6. Quit the Disk Management snap-in
I hope this has helped.

External Hard drive clicking sound and unable to view contents of

First check the LaCie power supply. I have a D2 HARD DISK EXTREME 250GB model 300770 that had this exact problem. I swapped out the power supply for the higher wattage unit from LaCie and presto, the drive functioned properly. Not saying this will fix your problem but I have personally had this exact problem. If not take the drive and mount it in a PC IDE/EIDE disk slot and see if you can mount the drive and recover your data (points to LaCie controller problem). Note opening the drive invalidates your LaCie warranty. Also note the warranty on my drive was one years and had long since passed. If that does not work, your last alternative it to use a disk data recovery service but that is big $$$$s. Bon Chance!

My glyph is not seen on my mac

If the drive is connected via firewire, power the drive. If the drive powers and you can place your hand on it and feel it "spinning", and still it does not mount. Try a different FW cable. If still no mounting action, place your ear on the drive to hear any grinding or clicking. If the drive sounds to be operating normal, open disk utility.. Hard drive/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility The drive should appear in the left pane under your computers hard drive. You should see the button to MOUNT it on the top right. Hope this works
