It is highly possible that a damage is done on the laptop, please shut off power and do not power unless the laptop main board is cleaned and dried, the damage is already done but you can prevent further fault by having the main board brushed, cleaned and dried. It is possible that a fuse link would have triggered off or a possible failure of the contact in the flexible wires strip to the display or a short in the main board that is showing up all the lights on power. A close check and test will confirm this or else you might end up with a damaged set.

It could be. Juice contains water, which could cause a short-circuit on the laptop's board, if it reached it. You should have a specialized technician open it and have a look. You may only need to replace a part of it, depending on the extend of the damage.

I spilt a glass of juice over my husbands keyboard and now it wont work properley! can i have this repaired for him or shall i just buy a new one?

Hi, Jenny.

If you are talking about an external keyboard, it's not worth repairing and easy to replace. A keyboard on a laptop is more difficult to replace, but also not worth repairing.

Since juice is acidic, the circuitry on the keyboard is probably destroyed.

Hope this helps.

Laptop keyboard do not work & system restart automatically

You probably got juice on the motherboard. I’m afraid the only solution is to have the motherboard replaced. There might be a chance that the juice will dissipate after time.

Motherboard

I see many cases of spilt coffee/pop/beer/liquid of some sort spilt on laptops at work, and it is rare that good news accompanies it. It is rather impossible to clean out a laptop entirely. Your best bet is to get your data off the hard drive, buy a new laptop, and transfer it over. This may seem harsh, but it really is your best option if you do not wish to lose data.

Spilt juice on it and it won't turn on

You broke it. The biggest mistake people make after spilling liquids onto electronic devices is to try and turn it on to see if it still works. You should remove the battery and not try to turn on a device until it has had several days of dry warm air around it to ensure all moisture is removed from the electronic parts. I would guess that if you spilled juice on it and it will now not turn on or respond in any way that unit will need to be returned to the manufacturer for repair. Even if it is in warranty they will know it has been "misused" and not honor the warranty. The HDD should be ok but most likely a PCB has died. You could try the accidental damage cover of your household insurance.
