Hello,
There is some kind of red convergence!..Please try to check for the circuit and find the defective bulbs or fuses and replace them which could have possibly occured due to a power surge or short circuit..

Please post back how things turned or for further assistance..Thank you!!..

Kind Regards!!...

Does it take some type of gel under the lights, the colors are a little blurry

i also have this tv. i removed backcleaned mirrior, back of screen and lenses VERY GOOD. Then turned on tv go to convergence, sepaerate cross hairs then adjust focus on lenses. Then lenses rotate maybe about a 1/3 turn total by hand. Grab ring that houses lenses and turn until cross hairs are as clear as possible. This can be done with out help by watching inside of screen. red and green are adjustable, the blue is adjustablealso but i couldnt find blue cross hairs, maybe by covering red and green lenses the blue will show on screen. anyway when done and cross hairs are clear, lenses, mirror and screen are clean, you can adjust covergence and get a very clear screencleaning will also brighten pic. First pull back Look for screen and focus block you will have 3 controls ontop for focus and 3 controls below for adjusting screen drive to each Tube R/G/B
turn color off on Menu NOW try to Adjust the red, greenand blue screen drives as close asyou can to a Black and White picture then turn Color back on in Menu also adjust Focus for each Tube Be sure to Clean Top of Tube Lenses of dust&dirt Just in case Post me your Model and Chassis Number it will be on back of TV some RCA Focus&screen drive Block maybe in front of TV if so remove front bottom panel their you will see control box.

The blue projection light is off, like it has dust on it. so unscrewed the front screen, cleaned the lights now the red and green are blurry looking. any help ?

You probably knocked or moved the focus lenses when you cleaned the lights (these are actually 3 picture tubes) Each lens has a wing nut that tightens to lock the focus in place if this was moved your focus would be off. Does the blue tube light at all? and when the TV's on is the image clear when you look directly into the Tubes? (the image should be bright and clear -not milky.)

I have a sony kp-61v90 projector tv and the colors are making the red stick out, feels like a 3d, any help?i kalld a tv repair which charged me $50 and said to repair $350 which is pretty crazy....help

i'm assuming that your complaint is the red is predominant over the other colors- if it is a rear projection set, there are three tubes [r,b,g], and each one has its own flyback with a focus and 'g2' control on it. try backing down the red g2, and if the picture is too dark, turn down the color control [so you should have a black and white pic], then adjust the g2 controls until you have a satisfactory black and white pic- after that, when you turn the color back up, you should have a good pic. sometimes. adjusting the g2 can affect the focus, and there is a focus control on the flyback. there are also optical focus [moveable lenses] on each tube, but they are primarilly for initial setup of the set, and should never have to be adjusted, unless the tube has been replaced. fyi- i happen to have a complete set of sony rear projection tubes [r,b,g] complete with lenses and neck coils i am currently trying to sell, but it doesn't sound like you need tubes at this time, but it's something to keep in mind, because these tubes are becoming extremely rare and hard to find, and cost upwards of close to a thousand dollars a piece, i'm selling the complete set for four hundred dollars. good luck!

How to fix fuzzy pic & red, blue, green lines on your screen?

Typically this is due to a convergence chip failure. This repair can be done pretty easy with the proper instruction. Have a look at this video to help determine if you truly have a convergence problem.

Rear projection tv

hello. well that's not from your focus board.!!! tv's don't have focus board's .!!! they have focus pod's.!!! it's a small black box with nob's that can be turned to ajust the focus.!!! so the tv look's clear.!!! the problem you have is in your ( blue IC chip') . it's going bad and will need to be replaced.!!! there are 2 (IC chip's) there is one for the red & one for the blue.!!! and they are on the convergence board.!!! they will have letter & number's on them.!!! like (STK 1140 or STK1158) NOW.!!! UNDERSTAND THAT THESE AND NOT YOUR NUMBER ON YOUR SET.!!! YOU WILL HAVE TO LOOK FOR YOUR SELF.!!! ON THE CONVERGENCE BOARD TO FIND OUT WHAT number's are on your (ICchip's) .!!! and replace them .!!! and that should fix your problem.!! hope this help's you.!!! "GOOD LUCK"
