Hey guys (and girls), I had this problem and that's how I came here. I don't know if this is the solution, but ten mins ago it didn't work, then I took of the case and next to the micro sd words (indented into the phone) there is a small metal button, I just pushed that and it came back on. I hope this is the problem and that I've helped you, if not, well, at least mine is working for now. take it easy. ross
To the owners of a LG Ku990 the problem with your camera light may just be that the light is blown or disconnected from the circuit due to the heat that emits from the phone from using it for awhile because I've noticed the when the red eye reduction is on it flashes twice and although some might not have ventured into the phone i was surprising that the makeup of inside this phone was similar to a digital camera. besides that some of the methods mentioned in the other solutions might have worked for others due to "fiddling" with the phone so firstly to the few owners of this phone check your local mobile phone repair guy and see if its really one of the two symptoms mentioned above and good luck

1. When your in Camera mode press the button on the side that locks and unlocks your phone. When you press this a little hand should appear with an icon over it. When this is on my flash does not work but when i turn it off again it flashes....Hope this helps???
2. Just wondering if you have it set to auto also or redeye reduction?
3.You could also try dial 3845#*990# go to (2) device test (6)Camera (3) Camera Flash ON OR your flash capacitor has probably blown. seems to be a fairly common problem in the ones i have come across. only way to tell for sure is to take it apart (easy!) and then look at the cap in top left corner. if it has leaked or popped thats your problem
hi, even i have the same problem, probably i don't think the flash doesn't work, but even i didn't know how to use it. however, the instruction manual says there are 3 options in flash, they are auto- that is it turns flash automatically on when it turns on.
red eye reduction that is it says it will flash twice to reduce red eye but i never see the flash on and the flash off, that is it will not turn on and usually whenever you exit the camera the flash will default to turn off mode. you will need to switch the flash back. hope you understand.
This worked for me: I turned the ISO to 800 and set the flash to "auto" - even in quite bright light the flash still goes off so I'd definitely try this. To turn the image stabiliszer off, press the "unlock" button next to the shutter on the side of the phone.
have the same unit. Indoor pictures are hard to take, since there is no flash. You can change the light settings, but it still look dark unless it's a REALLY well-lit area.
When using the camera, hit the settings button on the screen and tap on White Balance. Try using "Tungsten" or "Fluorescent" and see how those work for your lighting conditions. The camera works best when there's natural light present.
You hit the problem on the head. If you can still see an image, albeit extremely faint, and the Casio is still working, i.e. playing an mp3 file or whatever, then you definitely have a problem with the backlight. More times than not, this is either a daughterboard problem or a connection problem (rarely have I seen an actual bulb failure though it can happen). One of the more common causes is the tiny ribbon cable connector on the daughterboard. You might try to disassemble it, clean the contacts of the ribbon and reassemble the device.
I've also heard of people squeezing in the side of the case to temporarily effect repairs...this is normally more ominous.
