Because the file is in a different format like aac or something you need to get a mp3 converter like this one http://www.nch.com.au/switch/mp3.html and feed the files that are not playing into the program 1 click add flies select the folder on your computer containing the files and select the destination folders for example my converted tune on the desk top then when all files have been added select the output format probably mp3 and click convert
good luck

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

My mp3 player keeps showing file format not supported

Did you download files in formats other than MP3 (files in MP3 format are named 'songname.mp3' (without the quotes)) on your player ?.. If your player is only an MP3 player, it will play only MP3 files (music files).

My player keeps saying No files after I downloaded music on to it.

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet toyour computer and then copy them to your MP3 player. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music filesonto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to yourMP3 player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

I sync music onto my mp3 player and it keeps saying no files

Either there is an error with how the files are being placed in the device, such as shortcuts, or the files you placed are not supported by the device.
There should have been instructions that came with the mp3 player, try reading up on where the files need to be placed. Make sure you didn't change any folder names (or maybe you have to create a folder before syncing.) Also, doing a quick google search, I found that it supports .mp3, .wav, and .wma files. So be sure to check if the files you sync'd are the right format. (Right click the music file, properties, Type of file: ____) I can't imagine that being the problem, as most music is already in mp3 format.
Good luck.

It wont play music. it keeps saying no file

: The reason your player says no files is because the files from I-tunes are in an unsupported format called MP4 or MPEG layer 4. The music formats that you MP3 Player supports are MP3, WMA or WAV files.

: Why do some of my MP3 files not play when transferred to the player?
A: First, make sure the Element MP3 player you are operating supports the MP3 file that you are attempting to play. Please reference www.elementelectronics.com to look up your model’s specifications.
Check to make sure there is no copy protection on your MP3 files. You can determine if the file is protected by right clicking on the file and selecting properties. In the properties window you can find whether the file has any copy protection placed on it. This normally happens while importing music files through Windows Media Player. To make sure that Windows Media Player does not copy protect music follow these steps.

1. From the Windows Media Player screen Click “Tools” on the menu bar at the top of your screen and select “Options”. If the menu bar does not appear, right click on the “Rip” button at the top of your screen and select “More Options”
2. Click on the “Rip Music” tab, uncheck “copy protect music”.
3. Click ok to save the new setting.
