Multiple IE,internet explorer windows are popping up when ever i try to open a webpage

Hi, I have windowsXP, & for a long time I get multiple IE windows popping up whenever I try to open a web-pagefrom IE. This happens even after I formatted the Hard Drive and did a clean install of the Operating System. Is this a virus or a syware? Any idea or resolution, which I cold try. The surprising part is that even after doing a clean install of the OS , it still did not help. Kindly suggest a resolution & as it is really irritating.

If you're open to other IE substitutes, you can try Mozilla Firefox. You can download it from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/. Firefox is very good in blocking pop-ups.

If IE is still your choice, you can upgrade it to IE 7, which can be found at:

It connects to the internet but wont pull up the webpage. Asks to recover it or close it and is so slow it may be timing out.

Internet explorer asking for the page to be recovered is usually a page issue, multiple things you can go to check this out.
1. Try another page, I would usually try google.com (simple & fast)
2. Reset the browser (on IE, Tools > Internet options > advanced tab > reset) - should take care of a lot of issues
As for the speed of internet, that depends on the connection you have... if it's wireless, try wired (best way to ts connectivity issues)

I can't view the whole webpage on my computer. Parts are missing. How do I fix this? I have spent hours trying to.

Hi ,

First we need to check the version for Internet Explorer ,windows xp comes with internet explorer 6 and vista comes with 7 so to check that open up the webpage and then right on top of the page you will see a menu that has file, edit, view, favourates, tools and help and in vista if you dont find it press the ALT key on the keyboard it will show up.Now you need to click on help ?about internet explorer?check the version for internet explorer if it is 8 then FOR XP go to start ?control panel ?add remove programs?right on top of the page check the box that says show updates .Look for anything that says internet explorer 8 or ie 8,select it and then remove it.
In vista you will have to click on control panel?program and features? then click on show instaled updates that would be listed on the left hand side then look for Internet explorer 8?select it and then click on uninstall .

If its not internet explorer 8 then delete cookies, temp files ,clear history by going to tools, internet options and in the internet options page click on the tab that says content?click clear SSL STATE...The other thing that can be done is go to the Advance tab and then click on reset that will be at the the bottom of the page ,click apply and ok .

hope this works ......all the best

you might have a proxy or a firewall set to too tight for a security. 1), reset IE by going from IE menu to, tools/internet options/advanced/reset, reset again. the close IE and open it back up. if does not work do 2) go tools/internet options/conections/lan settings/ clear all.
close IE and open it again.
also make sure that "work offline" is not checked under the "file" menu. if still try 3) disable your firewall. (you might have more than 1) (the windows one you can access from control panel.)

Good afternoon Laveda,

I have two fixes for you to try,

1. Right click the wireless icon in your task tray (bottom right of the screen). Select REPAIR from the pop up list. The wizard will run through it and you will hit finish or close at the end. Try Internet Explorer.

If that doesn't work...

2. Open Internet Explorer. From the File menu, Select Tools. Select Internet Options from the bottom of the drop down list. Select the Connections tab across the top. Click the LAN Settings button torwards the bottom. Make sure that "Automatically Detect Settings" is checked and nothing else. Close Internet Explorer, reopen Voila.

I hope this helps you out. Have a good day.

Closing Multiple Windows

Are you using internet explorer?

Internet explorer is unable to handle many windows open at the same time.

My suggestion is to use Mozilla Firefox which can be downloaded for free which is safer and has much fewer errors than IE. Please update me on the situation and what internet browser you are using and I will work with you until the problem is fixed.
