I have a HK avr 1550 ... my videos or songs will play for a few second and stop and continue again ... hopefully someone can enlighten me

Hopefully your cds and dvds don't have any fingerprints on them. The laser eventually fails. Sometimes it is from aging solder joints and a few very small potentiometers that get a poorer connections with time. The 2 or 4 potentiometers are for 1) tracking gain 2) voltage gain 3) tracking offset 4) focus gain These are so sensitive that if you move them you may never get it back to the correct spot ever again so mark them well. This may not fix your problem and the laser will still fail. The inside of the laser lens starts getting dark as it fails. Ordering the laser may not be cost effective and too fussy to replace.

Hi,
It sounds like you haven't followed the last step to the burning procedure. All you need to do once you've completed burning your disc is to Finalize the disc. Read below why you need to finalize as well as the steps to follow in order to finalize the disc.
Hope this helps ;)
How to Finalize Finalizing is writing the TOC (table of contents) on a disc so a CD player can recognize the number of tracks, the total time for each track, and their location on the disc. A recorded disc must be finalized to playback on a standard CD player. Once finalized a CD-R disc can be played on CD players that support CD-R playback. CD-RW discs can only be played on CD players that support CD-RW playback. Consult your CD player owner's manual to confirm supported formats. Finalizing is necessary to: • be able to play a recorded CD-R or CD-RW disc on a CD player • prevent further recording on a disc • avoid erasing tracks on a CD-RW disc • record text information onto a disc you record Notes: • A finalized CD-R disc can never be recorded onto again. • A finalized CD-RW disc can be unfinalized for more recording. • The CDR300 can play back unfinalized CD-R or CD-RW discs. • SYNC REC+FINAL mode automatically finalizes.
Here are the steps in order to Finalize your disk
1 Push Stop. The display shows the number of tracks and their total playing time. 2 Push FINALIZE. FINALIZE is displayed for about 3 seconds.

Hi ! When I start to play a CD , it will only last for about 30 second , then it suddenly stop playing , what is the problem ?Grateful for help.

Either the laser is failing, or the unit is unable to move the laser along the sled.
Try skipping out to track 5 or so and see if it will play there for 30 seconds, or if it errors out trying to even get there.
If it goes to track 5 and keeps playing to the end, then you need to lubricate the chrome bar that the laser sled slides on. White lithium grease is what I recommend here. Remove the old grease first with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol.
While you're in there, GENTLY clean the laser lens with a clean q-tip and rubbing alcohol.

I have a TDK HD-01 head demagnetizer for cassette decks, but I have lost the instructions. Could you help?

Hi there.
First - Turn On The Tape Demagnatiser (should be a switch on it)
Second - Insert into cassette player
Third - Turn On cassette player
Fourth - TURN DOWN VOLUME ON AMPLIFIER TO MINIMUM (This is essential!)
Fifth - Press Play on cassette player
Sixth - After 10 seconds press stop on the cassette player
Seventh - Remove the cassette demagnetizer from the cassette player
Eighth - Turn off the demagnetizer and put back in it's usual storage place

AGAIN, MAKE SURE THE VOLUME IS TURN TO MINIUM WHEN USING THIS AS THE NOISES CAN DAMAGE SPEAKERS.

I have a stanton-vestax cd-11 dual cd player, and was wondering how to get a cd to play on it. I put one in, turned the player on, pushed all the buttons and nothing happened. how does it work?

I have had one of these for many years: Switch it on, you must make sure the two transit screws at the back of each deck are fully unscrewed and loose, let the machine displays settle down, then insert a CD, then press the 'reset' button. There is a built-in delay of about 11 seconds before the deck begins to read. After this the machine should then display the first track number, and pressing the big red button will start play.

Pressing the 'reset' button again stops playback and the CD spins down, but if you leave the CD in there it will eventually re-index and cue up again. This feature is to enable fast, one-button CD changing and it works very well in practice, as the 11 second delay is enough time to take one CD out and get another in there before it tries to read it again.

To stop playback just press the 'reset' button (this is the most used button!) and take out the CD. After the delay, the machine will try to read a CD as normal, but display 'no CD' on the display. There is no stop button, as this unit was designed for continuous use in a club or disco.

Hope this helps. :)
